Just back from Business trip in Italy, and I could not type this earlier.
As mentioned previously I was invited to see the new X4 life this week at the Geneva car show. That is what happened on Monday afternoon. The car came during last Sunday night and was placed in a private showroom on BMW Stand. It was the x4 35i with M Sport Package in Melbourne red with inside leather Nevada oyster and red stiches. I m not a fan of red car, but I must admit one thing I really like with this red is the great contrast it makes on the rear M bumper, the low part in the middle painted in red makes it really sporty.
The first think you notice (I drive a 2011 X3 35i M sport package spacegrey) is the X4 far more aggressive than the X3 and looks very muscular. I really like the roof line back the rear car it is very well done, better than on the actual x6. the rear of the car is very muscular too, but it does not look heavy like the X6 could look.
The second point I noticed, the car had the 19" M rims, and it looks small on the x4. I have 19" M rims on my x3 too, but it doesn't look tiny as it does on the x4.
Oyster Leather is a very nice colour, but think that the car was there only since a few hours, some people sat inside, and the colour was already dirty on some area.
I m 1,81m tall, I positioned the driver seat as I use to do in my X3, sat then on the rear seat and still had plenty of place for my legs without needing to put them in a V position. On the front seat I had plenty space between my head and the roof, on the back seat that Is another story even if my head was not touching the roof. Sit on the driver seat take a look on the middle mirror and yes the view through the rear window is smaller than on the X3. This explain why the car comes standard with rear radar. I will not develop on the control panel, it is the same as on the X3 LCI, almost the same as on my X3. I find it very functional and I like it.
Outside in the middle of the front bumper just under the car plate, you have a flat black plastic which is the Driving Assistant radar. The flat plastic replace the old Bulb.
I really enjoyed the car. Next Step this summer, good bye X3, welcome X4.
@ Scott27: Before you exhibit the car on the next show, please take a look at the front bumper down left side of the reg. plate, there is already a scratch. I don't know who is the blind driver you used to move the car, but an impact is already done. Next time please contact me, I will move your car in a very safety way
