The Porsche 918 Spyder is a high performance sports car manufactured by Porsche from September 2013 to June 2015.

This guy in 2016 smashed EIGHT 1/2 mile runs at over 170MPH in the same day, or I believe or weekend. Resulted at the end.

There are other results I'm aware of where he pulled off from memory TEN runs and peaked at 177MPH, again back to back over a similar time frame again in the Porsche 918. I never found out until I researched, to silence someone! LOL!

He's a legend nobody I know, knows of!

Also I don't know if the P1 or LAF could do that.:)

I’ve driven both you’d been correct in your assertion lol
Is it easy to find the clutch bite point when pulling away in the CGT?

I have only played it in racing games and even in there, it's a handful that needs to be driven respectfully as an F1 car with all assists off.

Video says he peaked at 174 and that seems right to me. I believe best 918 trap speeds my friend who has owned one and still does has recorded are 146/175 in the 1/4 and 1/2 mile respectively.

I know I stated some other results! Those though are in tabulated form on an Excel sheet buried deep on a website somewhere. Still, incredible pace.

And I'm pleased your friend has achieved those results! :)

You said you have driven both. Which one did you prefer or enjoy more? And where does Carrera GT stand for you in terms of driving compared to other supercars you drove and own? And 918 of course.

918 for me. I really don’t drive stick very often so CGT took a lot of mental focus for me until I was comfortable. I also had confidence in pushing the 918 from the start. CGT I always had it’s reputation in the back of my mind. Also 918 somehow sounds better (or as good) in the cabin. CGT from inside the sound gets a little muffled although it’s glorious outside.

That's not entirely uncommon. Some cars sound way better from the outside either driving towards or away from you.

I’ve never liked that particular 918 spec. I also have zero interest in making cars louder. Tone is more important. The 918 would be the hypercar I’d take though, if I were to take the plunge into that arena. Which is unlikely.

The specifications on this one are a little loud perhaps but atleast he's trying different things. I don't follow them religiously but I've interacted with and they're cool. I remember the Mclaren Senna lights! LOL! But something's happened to it I believe.

As for hypercars if we're talking legitimately just one, only one (don't tell SSC, LOL!) It's a Bugatti Chiron. Standard base. No Super or Pur Sports needed.🙂

He didn’t spec it though. Belonged to a guy in Atlanta (I think) from new and bounced around a little before ending up with current owner. The red painted carbon is awful.
