918 [Official] Porsche 918 Spyder

The Porsche 918 Spyder is a high performance sports car manufactured by Porsche from September 2013 to June 2015.
One of the best cars Porsche has ever built and that is saying a lot. Thing is timeless and still has up to date performance.

It looks fantastic in this shade of (Signal?) yellow. I've only ever seen three 918s - one black and a silver one in Dubai and our local mogul has a white Weissach with questionable race car decals. In conservative colours it doesn't stand out much more than say a 991 Speedster. It needs the bolder colours to really make its cool details pop, like here. Indeed, absolutely timeless and I can't ever imagine those looks dating.

Edit: I actually prefer the non-Weissach spec cars, looks-wise, as they have a cleaner, less fussy look about them like the example above.

Racing Yellow is color of this 918.

About 3 years ago, I visited a weekend event at Frankfurts' Klassikstadt. Exhibited were several dozen amazing classic automobiles. But the car that appeared to command the most attention was a visitors' dark metallic grey 918 Spyder. What a magnificent automobile it is-and certainly one of my favorite Porsches of all time.

I think it’s in the top 10 of all Porsches ever built. That’s an extremely high honor considering the stunners Porsche has built.

without a doubt. Top 5 for me. From 2015-2019 there’s no car I wanted more. In a car world where relevance is so fleeting that’s crazy staying power.

This car is still wonderful, with its gorgeous styling and that NA V8 that is music to the ears. Certainly one of my favorite Porsche models, this and the Carrera GT are on my dream car list

Both Carrera GT and 918 are fantastic cars with timeless styling. Personally I would go for Carrera GT because it has a V10 and manual gear. I am not a fan of hybrids and I don’t think these transitorial-engined cars will be that desirable in the future

I've always wonder what a RWD 918 with just the ICE engine would be like.

The 918 is a gorgeous design aging well and which was at its time a technical masterspiece. It has aged extremely well !

Auto underlines how the "hotlaps" are not an "exact science", that the weather conditions are never identical, how is hard to go @ 100% on the 918, which is "virtually" the fastest car, how Balocco is perhaps too tortuous, and the Lamborghini had TrofeoR.

Hello Mafalda. Any chance to get the full test in bigger size ?

The 918 came out in the perfect time. I think a lot of the early 2010s cars are some of the best designed and aging cars whereas newer cars have fussy details that will age worse. And the 918 as a hypercar is just the definition of peak 2010s design. Every vent is functional, but the lines and design are smooth and clean. Still looks new today and is aging amazingly.

Old video, maybe already published, but even if you don't like the guy, its gives a lot a interesting details on the car. Funny, I just discovered that the gear selector looked like the predecessor of the current 992's...

The batteries will be the Holy Trinity's Achilles heels when they age.
