918 [Official] Porsche 918 Spyder

The Porsche 918 Spyder is a high performance sports car manufactured by Porsche from September 2013 to June 2015.
Yes, even for fans this is an eternal question!

Honestly, I think it's really a question of "To each his own" for me that would be the LaFerrari but the "Best of the three" would possibly be the 918, Porsche never fails, it's crazy.

Only we argue. I don't think LaFerrari owners care about say the McLaren’s generally or vice versa.

They're was an English racer his name escapes me. He bought all three!🤣

The car is gorgeous, very nice spec... but the price

It's barely delivery mileage and definitely nowhere near on paper broken in mileage. A car like that's only ceiling is how much an individual will pay.

Cannot really be compared to even those with just 2K or whatever mileage. It can't, I'd gesture.

Delivery mileage buyers are in a different league to “normal” even low mileage buyers. These are collectors who might own 7-20 cars that they have never driven or even seen. It’s not uncommon for a car to go from factory straight to a warehouse. Alternatively they own two of the same car. One for driving and one for store of value or to just admire as a piece of art.

Makes me wonder if any other 918s have gotten special touches applied at Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur / Sonderwunsch department. They could be even more special examples hiding out there 🤔

How much do you think would Piech's car go for? That's gotta be the ultimate one to get.

Exactly. I mean I think it's basic stuff.

This is so cool. Porsche 918 is mega. I remember at the beginning of Covid their prices dropped in the states to about $1.2mm. Now they’re over double that. Insane amount of money for a car but I wish I’d have bought one.

After all these years we finally see a drag race of the Holy Trinity. The 918 is a demon out of the blocks and leaves the P1 and La Ferrari far behind.

I translated this aero chart into numbers.

I'm not sure why the official drag coefficient claims for the most slippery configurations are .01 improved vs this data.

The theoretical Vmax numbers are there to illustrate the differences in drag. It's not to say that 918 in Sport mode will top out at 363 kph, because the spoiler might have its own logic.
They are calculated with 15% powertrain loss and, in case of 918, there's extra 156 PS from rear electric motor (front motors decouple at 265 kph).

I'm guessing the 918 data pertains to standard 918, and Weissach equipped car has slightly more downforce. So the factory DF claim (for Weissach car) could actually be accurate.
