Huayra [Official] Pagani Huayra

The Pagani Huayra, a successor to the Pagani Zonda, was initially revealed online in a press release on 25 January 2011. It was officially revealed at the 2011 Geneva Motor Show. The car is named after the Quechua god of wind, Huayra-tata. The engine is a 6.0-litre twin-turbo M158 V12 engine from Mercedes-AMG producing 544 kW (740 PS; 730 hp) and 1,000 N⋅m (740 lb⋅ft) of torque. The Huayra's body is made from carbotanium; a lightweight composition of carbon fibre and titanium. The Huayra has been redesigned from the ground up, but shares many visual qualities with its predecessor. The car can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph (97 km/h) in 3.2 seconds and has a top speed of 235 mph (378 km/h). Only 100 units of the Huayra were produced, each costing £1,000,000 (1.05 million US$) without options.
Looks way better in that color than the mismatch that was the first customer car. Kind of reminds me of the original launch color.

The most beautiful of all Huayra’s (well in fact the only beautiful Huayra).

Well, this time I have to say that I disagree with most of the opinions here regarding the new Pagani Imola.
To me, the car is fantastic, it is the spec that is not on point.
Just look at the titanium/silver finishing here:

To me, this surely is beautiful.

Now, even better, imagine it with this exact raw carbon 2014 Bologna Motorshow Zonda Revolucion finish:

That would be insane.

Also, don't be too quick in judging the performance of the Imola based on just the number of horsepowers: for track-focused cars, chassis, handling and power delivery means much more than just brute HP numbers.
This thing packs around 830 HP, 1100 Nm of torque on a lightweight carbo-titanium construction, has a track-focused X-Trac developed gearbox (like the Zonda R/Revolucion), and has been finely tuned with more than 16 thousands kms on track at race pace.

It would be a blast to drive.

According to a report from the italian website "Veloce.it", the Pagani Imola is said to be around 7 seconds per lap faster, on the Imola racetrack, than the Porsche 918.

Also, the same site reports a beautiful video were the details behind the project of the Imola are discussed with the great Horacio himself and with other Pagani engineers.
Even in the video it is said that the Imola proved to be more than 5 seconds per lap faster at Imola than a "german hypercar with batteries".
The interviews are in italian, however english subtitles can be switched on.
Here is the video:

Finally, some stunning pictures of the beast:

The Pagani Imola uses a 6.0-liter twin-turbo V12 engine developed by Mercedes-AMG specifically for Pagani.
The power reaches 816 HP - 79 HP more than the Huayra BC - while the torque is increased from 1,000 Nm to 1,100 Nm. All of this is directed to the rear axle via a seven-speed rocker switch, which accelerates the car from 0 to 62 mph in 2.8 seconds before it reaches a top speed of 238 mph.

Wow, I cant wait to see this unveiling. I am a big Pagani fan and when something new comes out of this brand it is bound to be exciting. Cant believe the Huayra is already 8 years old. They need something special to be launched again.

It Will be the huayra R i believe.

Some video on the BC acceleration and top speed attempt. This car is no joke, it is seriously fast.

Come on...both of these are obviously fake (or rather taken from computer games), no point posting these.
Concerning acceleration times, we have the quattroruote test of the Huayra BC Roadster:
0-100: 3,7 s
0-200: 8,2 s
0-300: 19,7 s

More to the point, I wonder where the promised Huayra R is. Should have been revealed in January - and that already had been postponed from November and then December. I am really quite curious with what kind of NA V12 the car is gonna turn up with.

According to the rumors it's supposed to have 900PS and rev to 9500RPM. Considering that, it's probably not gonna be the current M158 V12 that the Huayra uses, just without turbos. That engine is SOHC, 3 valves per cylinder and clearly not fit for high RPM applications. It's probably also not gonna be the current (but soon to be phased out) MB V12, the M279, for the same reason.

Another option could be the M297 engine from the various street versions of the Zonda. In its most powerful guise it made 800PS and 850Nm from its 7.3L (in the Zonda HP Barchetta). The only problem here is that the engine never revved past 7500RPM and making a 7.3L rev to 9500RPM might prove quite challenging.

Finally, what I think is the most likely alternative, it could be a further evolution of the GT112 6L engine from the racing version of the CLK GTR and the Zonda R. That engine - in the Zonda R Rev - made 730Nm and 800PS at 8000RPM. Map that to 9500RPM keeping the same torque and you are at 950PS. So if it was possible to make the engine rev that high, the required power would certainly be there.

Im betting on the last alternative aswell.
