In retrospective, a few years from now, I think we will talk about the W222 as an outstanding S class in every aspect. I meant the car as a whole, not only it's design.Interestingly, the more I see them on the street, the more I believe the W223 is above the W222 in terms of design from every angle.
While design is subjective, I can totally believe the W222 to be a better car as a whole at the time than the W223.I meant the car as a whole, not only it's design.
FWIW, imo W222 is a better design than W223.
I wouldn't say that and it,s not what I said in my prior post #1.143. W223 has still many years 'till it's retirement. Often one can only truly judge a car and the impact it had several years after it's production period. Hence my remark, that W222 will be seen as an outstanding S Class in future. Not that it's a better car than W223.While design is subjective, I can totally believe the W222 to be a better car as a whole at the time than the W223.
Don’t think so and here is why… not that it’s not a great car but when the W124 was launched, there weren’t a lot of other ‘interesting’ cars except say the Testarossa or the Countach… and a Random RR all of which were bad. The W124 wasn’t only good, it was a benchmark of quality and luxury. Today you have multimillion dollar hyper cars like the Chiron etc that have people talking. Don’t think anyone will care about an S class. When comfort and speed have been democratized to this level an average motor isn’t hat will get people excitedIn retrospective, a few years from now, I think we will talk about the W222 as an outstanding S class in every aspect. Sort of like how people see the W124 E class nowadays.

Has he seen a doctor for this strange affliction?A good friend of mine has a w222 with the same steering wheel. When you grip it you instantly feel luxury rippling from your fingers through to your arm to your chest.
God this is a great looking car. I didn't think the proportions would look so good on the W214, but it fits perfectly.
I doubt this. Because the Eighties was the aspiration era especially for cars of this calibre. In retrospective, a few years from now, I think we will talk about the W222 as an outstanding S class in every aspect. Sort of like how people see the W124 E class nowadays.

While proportions are spot on, I still dislike details like the graphics of the tail lights as well as the shape of the fake exhaust pipes.![]()
