Drive them both first and then decide. They will appeal to slightly different tastes. The E-class will probably feel like a smaller sportier car to drive while the S-class will be a more comfortable and refined ride with slightly more space. The E-class in my opinion has a better dash than the S-class but the bigger car has more plusher seats. Now the question is - should I go for the fully loaded brand new E class or almost fully loaded used S class - the price will be the same
I don't need a car as big as the S-class so I'd buy theS-class coupeE class because its big enough, and should also be comfortable enough.
I just wish they had an E550/E55 with a 550hp V8 sitting underneath the full-blooded E63. Not that any will have a V8 this generation, but I just wish.
Heck, maybe with the UK deciding to shit itself and set the emissions targets back by 5 years, Mercedes might bless us.
The base Avantgarde spec E300e exterior wise looks pretty good with the chrome strip running the lower part of the rear bumper over the fake exhaust tips. Interior it also looks still quite classy with the wood trim on the entire dash and center console and nice looking central screen. Differences with higher specs can be noticed on the doors which have black speaker covers and no upper door stitching. I think the upper dash also doesnt have stitching or the central front armrest cover. The rear seat area has no 4 zone AC so has an open space where the climate controller would be.
