Saw it and the XM production version (closed room) at Villa d’este yesterday. Pretty good stuff from BMW. Big, heavy, tech machines is what I’d call them. Interior on point in both, especially, the roof headliner in XM. Interestingly, the 7 LCI will receive same size wheels as XM, 23“.

Oh Jesus, don't you start!

Ha ha! Only joking. You don't have a history of lying on the forum, so thanks for the info.

I wonder if the pre-facelift G70 is going to receive the 22 inch rims on the M Sport package and M Performance models?

I don't think so , it doesnt matter if the beautiful 20 40 or 60 year old car is compared with a brand new kid on the block they still wouldnt want the new kid on the block if its ugly.

To dismiss the G70/71 as being "ugly" would be harsh. Sure, its' front end is arguably polarizing and may or may not be something of an "acquired taste". On the other hand, much else is precisely penned and well-executed. The G70/71 may tend to turn many seriously off due to its' (almost grotesquely) obscene exterior dimensions. It's a 4 wheeled titanosaur.

Why doesnt the 7er get 23” sized wheels now ?

The 22' are available
Is it the 912 M Performance Alloy Wheels? Or a slightly different styles of wheel (but they are still the 22 inch) for the an upcoming configuration, and is it only reserved for the high performance models such as the M760e xDrive along with the i7 M70 xDrive?

You don’t hear me saying it’s ugly, because it’s not. All I’m saying is, that people tend to want to have the newest, hottest, most modern one can get. If than it’s a tie between the newest and a car that’s already almost two years old, yes, that speaks volumes, at least in my book.

It would barely fit in my garage.

I guess the upcoming G60/G61/G68 5 Series and G90 M5 will possibly going to have the 21 inch alloy wheels as the largest and most expensive rims.

You saw the Cape York Green Car in the Courtyard too?

Yes a ton. The XM is really a monster. When I first walked in I thought it was the concept. Lots of gold detailing like on the first versions of the 8 coupe. Everything is brutal about the XM even the doorhandles, mirrors, exhaust (it has a fully real exhaust meaning four exits with four pipes), lighting (headliner, ambient, footwells), 23“ wheels, headlights, trunk is tiny though. I estimate 450L and high entry height due to the battery (80 km in e mode). Also pricing will max out around 230k and options will be kept simple as to not give the wealthy clients an insane amount of options and complicate the sales journey - one step towards D2C online agency model.
