Mansory at 2015 IAA

Torque limited to 1,400 Nm
Aside from bringing their flashy orange Bentley Continental GT Speed Convertible, Mansory also has on display at IAA in Frankfurt this Mercedes-AMG S63 Coupe Black Edition.

It used to be an elegant large coupe but now it looks like it's ready for the zombie apocalypse as Mansory has decided to apply a sinister all-black treatment along with a comprehensive carbon fiber body kit. They also replaced the stock wheels with a black 22-inch set while at the back it now has a prominent fixed wing also manufactured from carbon fiber.

The custom look is matched with a massive power upgrade for the twin-turbo V8 5.5-liter engine which can now deliver no less than 1,000 PS (735 kW) and a whopping 1,400 Nm (1,034 lb-ft) which is actually electronically limited so who knows how much torque the unrestricted engine generates.

While the standard S63 AMG 4MATIC runs the 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) sprint in 3.9 seconds, this one is 0.7s quicker and tops out at an electronically-governed 186 mph (300 km/h) in comparison to the stock version which is capped at 155 mph (250 km/h).

Mansory has plans for six conversions, but they don't say anything about how much it costs.

S class Coupe: A brief analysis by me.:)

It appears that Mercedes creates a beautiful S class coupe for a generation and then the following model becomes somewhat ugly and then again the next generation becomes beautiful and the following model becomes ugly. Starting from R107 based C107 model that was uglier to its SL sibling due to the enlarged and awkward wheelbase, and then followed by the beautiful W126 based coupe, followed by W140 based C140 coupe that was quite unattractive compared to the previous w126. Then came the beautiful w220 based C215 coupe. What a design it was. One of Bruno Sacco's last artwork on 4 wheels followed by very ordinary, IMO, w221 based C216. And now the new S coupe C217 is outstanding. I hope Mercedes would make a change in the sequence and keep the next model as pretty or prettier than the current Coupe.

^ The C215 was designed by an Australian called Peter Arcadipane probably under the guidance of Bruno Sacco.

I think the days of ugly Benzes are over.

I am not a Mansory fan but this looks pretty awesome:

I wonder how MB is going to top this thing. It is amazing from every angle. The two last pics Merc1 posted a few days back... Woah.

I tell myself the same thing everything Mercedes-Benz unveils a new CL but they always surprise me. I think they put the best designers on the job and rigorously review the designs.

In real life the S-coupe looks even better than in the pictures, it is a beautiful coupe, possibly the best looking in the world now.

Yep, no doubt about it. I saw the S63 this same in black with the 5 spoke wheels and I was teully amazed. It is as close to perfection as you can get IMO.

If I had the money, I would have a hard time chosing between the S-Coupe and the F12. Probably my fav cars right now.
