In the UK a CL/S-Coupe is after 6 years only worth 15% of its retail price.

So basically consumers in the Netherlands will soon be able to buy an electric car that is as powerful as an S63 but pay less tax than they would for a Golf 1.0 TSI?

Well the current S coupe and cabrio hasn’t been out that long so for this market that would be the previous generation coupe.

Indeed, of the post-WWII Mercedes-Benz luxury 4/5 seat coupes and cabriolets, it is the W111/112 and previous models that currently fetch high-to-exorbitant collector prices. All following relevant model series have faced substantial-to-massive depreciation. "Condition 2" C107 350 SLCs' are going for just north of 20K Euros currently. The C126 SECs' are sought by a small circle of enthusiasts, with pristine low mileage cars going for mid-30s'K, but patina'ed high mileage condition 3 cars drawing offers that rarely exceed much over 13-14K Euros. From the C140 models onwards, depreciation is genuinely significant.
