That's not really an issue/flaw that a dealer couldn't fix. Minor squeaks and rattles are certainly not something any of the Germans are immune to.

I have the unfortunate curse of constantly wanting to change the car I drive, it stays dormant for about 8 months, before costing me lots of money. B/c of this curse (if I'm ever a billionaire it'll turn to a hobby); I have owned the following vehicles within the past 3 years (I'll only name the ones I owned for more than 3 months): 2009 S65 amg, 2011 Maserati GT conv, 2010 BMW 750i full dinan; 2011 Range Rover SC fullsize, 2013 Audi S8 [current car], 2009 BMW M6 conv, 2011 Lexus LX570, 2011 LS460, 2010 Escalade, 1974 Toyota FJ40.

I'm still looking for "that" car that I can own for a long time (3-4yrs) and not feel the urge to get something else. It sure would save a heck of a lot of money..

Wow, now I can understand your opinion about w222 550....I have never seen one s65 in real life....:(, and u have owned it and many more of the best...the new s8 (a beast in terms of power)....just...congrats! :D

Did you end up purchasing a Ghost, and if so was yours better than the demo? I'm hoping thats the case with my 222.

Indeed I did, although I probably shouldn't have. I optioned my differently from the demo I drove and truly enjoyed it when it first came. One year later (with significant depreciaton) and I'm not as much of a fan of it. It's just boring to me and doesn't feel THAT much more special than the Bentley Continental I used to drive. Particularly bothersome for me is the way the Ghost keels over in corners. The law of diminishing returns definitely starts taking affect with these luxury cars. That being said, the lambswool carpets feel nice under my bare feet. :)

When it comes to cars, I just expect not to fall in love with them. Better to come in with low expectations and be pleasantly surprised than the other way around. ;)

Pretty cool you Ghost and Continental owners like Mercedes too. Though Mercedes is not on their level, still says a lot about the brand.

The S-class is just that exceptional to me. The Bentley is behind on technology, the Ghost can't be driven in a swift manner (I get impatient sometimes) without letting you know your inputs are rude and promptly leaning over on its soft suspension to an occasionally comical degree. So it will be reserved for formal occasions, while the S550 will be for taking clients out and getting me where I need to go on a daily basis.

Does this mean the Wraith would also be as floaty on corners ?? I love that thing.

Dont know if these have been posted, but I think these guys are great... Both English and German versions...

hannaz,

Do you have may rear photos of the S class? Please :)

Dawid, sorry I was traveling last day. Do you mean the rear photo of the same S500 4Matic? If so am so sorry couldnt click a better one as it was over crowded. I was in IAA only for a day and wanted cover the whole even in the same day.

If not, I've posted several photos above of rear as well as earlier:http://www.germancarforum.com/commu...-benz-s-class-w222.48988/page-127#post-660105

Anyway I can (only) share one more photo of rear from my shoot from Dubai.

Any new updates/details on S600?

Is this really S600 or any Chineese re-badges? If so why don't it have the twin slack grille like we saw in S65?

We have already seen the complete S600. Somewhere in this thread there are several videos where the car's designer walks us through the car's features. Looks exactly like an S550 but with a 3 slat grille.

^ Agreed. Here they are again. :)

Don't know if this was posted, but enjoy Lesniks guide to the S600:D

Of cource,it should gets the twin slack grille, which we know is an exclusive design feature for S600 and S65 models,i believe this is a test car or something so it is still little disguised in fact, sorry for the confusion.
