Of course it is, I had test review from Dubai for my show & magazine. I was flattered with the refinement level of its ride, drive train & pin drop silence in the cabin. More over the its very effortless car to drive, I've conclude my review as 'Mercedes has made a the best car to the very best car in the world!'

I drove the S550 here in Los Angeles last night. I stopped by the dealership just to look at it, but was surprised when they asked if I wanted to drive it. I must say, while it is no doubt a very nice car, I was a little underwhelmed by the overall driving experience. After reading countless reviews and comments on this forum, I expected a much more "life altering" experience.

It is certainly a quick car, but not a rocket ship. The interior is well put together and flows great. If you have ever owned the W221, you'll be right at home with this one.

It's certainly a comfortable ride, but isn't as quiet or as smooth as I had hoped. In Los Angeles potholes and streets, sound resonated through the tires and into the cabin more than I had wished. It's as quiet as my current car, but certainly not more quiet.

IMO, if you are coming from a W221 or a vehicle that is older than 3 years, this will be light years ahead of what you are used to. If you are currently driving a large luxury sedan that is late 2012 or 2013, the W222 S Class won't feel like leaps and bounds ahead of the competition. I wish it did.

The demo car didn't have MBC, exclusive leather, the air freshener installed, so I'm hoping I will like mine much more when it comes in next week. If not, I'll have a Anthracite on black with black poplar, MBC, sports 1, premium pkg, air freshener, distronic plus, surround cam for sale. Will know in about 9 days :)

Haven't you heard? The F01 7-Series is MORE comfortable than the W222 S-Class.....

In all seriousness, I wonder what role the run-flat tires are playing with the 222's ride... The 7er's has been ruined by run-flats for years now...
I realize that removing the full size spare lightens the car and frees up space, but I really dread riding on hard run-flats...

Your entire experience reminds me of my test drive of the Rolls-Royce Ghost.

Im curious about your actual car too, Boogala? FL w221?. Because I was "tired" of driving a w221 (388hp) and I found this w222 much faster. Impressive.

Maybe who had a FL w221 (435 hp) didnt feel the same, of course.....

I have the unfortunate curse of constantly wanting to change the car I drive, it stays dormant for about 8 months, before costing me lots of money. B/c of this curse (if I'm ever a billionaire it'll turn to a hobby); I have owned the following vehicles within the past 3 years (I'll only name the ones I owned for more than 3 months): 2009 S65 amg, 2011 Maserati GT conv, 2010 BMW 750i full dinan; 2011 Range Rover SC fullsize, 2013 Audi S8 [current car], 2009 BMW M6 conv, 2011 Lexus LX570, 2011 LS460, 2010 Escalade, 1974 Toyota FJ40.

I'm still looking for "that" car that I can own for a long time (3-4yrs) and not feel the urge to get something else. It sure would save a heck of a lot of money..

Boogala, you just have to stay STRONG ! There will never be "that" car, because there is ALWAYS something better around the corner. I find test driving cars and then not purchasing good, something else always comes along and I think,"thank god I didn't purchase" How is the S8 ? I love that car.

I'm doing my best to stay strong :). I am now married, so my strength may get overrun by the new boss...

The S8 is a fantastic car. It's a comfortable ride, very quiet (would like a loud exhaust in "dynamic"[sport] mode). If I didn't drive so much I probably wouldn't want to give it up yet. The S8 is why the W222 isn't a rocket ship tho ;)

I suffer the same sickness as you, albeit given the price of cars here, the ones I go through are far more humble offerings than what you have been enjoying. And yes my wife has also stymied my cycling through cars significantly, so there is hope for you lol.

Perhaps you need to get an S63AMG with MBC?

These photos are disturbing. There are some imperfections in the classroom. I just love her.
I think that these are just some errors that will be corrected with time.

Wow, I'm surprised to see your pics Dawid. I sure hope the US models have these fixed. I didn't notice them on the demo I saw last night, but it was at night as well. I'm surprised a reviewer didn't note the gaps as well. Those are pretty major
