E-Class W213 [Official] Mercedes-Benz E-Class W213

The W213 Mercedes-Benz E-Class is the fifth generation of the Mercedes-Benz E-Class, sold from 2016 as a 2017 model. It succeeded the W212/S212 E-Class models. The coupe/convertible models share the same platform as the sedan/wagon, in contrast to the previous generation. The high-performance Mercedes-AMG E63 and E63S versions of the W213 have been available as well from 2016 (as a 2017 model), and these are the only versions with V8 engines.
I haven't really kept my ear to the ground lately regarding the W213 except for popping in this thread every now and then. Any new news if MBUSA will bring over a non-AMG E-Class sedan with the gasoline inline-6?

They are saying in 2019, which makes sense, MB is doing their usual engine launch schedule with the E class, introduce new engines one year before the face lift to boost sales.

Not sure about the line up for in line6 but the e300 will get the new m264 engine with 258ps.

Some more info on the supply constrains of the widescreen display for the E class, and apparently for E class only. Delay til July 2018 according to mbpassionblog. I suppose this delay is only for brand new orders from now.

For customers of the current E-Class from Mercedes-Benz with widescreen cockpit (code 464) there are currently delays in the availability of the option. Anyone who wants a fully digital instrument cluster for the E-Class of the 213 or 238 series must be up to July 2018 at the moment. The series of the S-Class is currently not affected by the restriction.

WIDESCREEN cockpit
The widescreen cockpit, which is only available for the E-Class in combination with COMAND Online or Audio 20 with a larger display, is currently available from July 2018 at the earliest. Before that, it was even known until the third quarter of 2018 - which did not come true. There are probably too many orders for the attractive equipment option that the supplier can not cover in a timely manner.

Do you guys think the touch screen will be on the facelift E?
Most likely, but hopefully by that time the voice command/AI system will be advanced enough to allow drivers or passenger to access all the functions by just saying it.

Big news next week!

It took over a year but I finally saw a silver W213 with AMG pack on the road today, someone finally bought that E350d from my dealer.

BMW just re-introduced a diesel 5-Series to the U.S. market. I wish Mercedes would sent the new I6 diesel over in the E and next GLE. It's a shame that VW has cause them to give up on diesel here.

FUTURE ENGINES IN THE E-CLASS FOR 2018

MARKUS JORDANJANUARY 17, 2018
E-CLASSSALES66 COMMENTS
Also in 2018, we expect further engines for the E-Class, both the sedan and station wagon of the type 213, as well as the E-Class coupe and convertible Series 238. For the first time are expected to be the new six-cylinder diesel in the E class, as E 350 d and E 400 d with 210 kW and 250 kW, respectively, while the previous 6-cylinder diesel generation adopted from the series.

W213 - E-Class Sedan
For the sedan of the E-Class, it is expectedthat the range of engines will be adapted throughout the year. For example, a new E 300 e - presumably with 155 + 90 kW - can be ordered from about April 2018 and should be delivered by the end of 2018. In December, however, the E 200 should alsoreceive an additional electric motor - and thus have about 10 kW in addition to its 135 kW. In parallel, in December 2018, we expect a power increase from 10 kW to 190 kW for the E 300 .
Already in April 2018, the E 350 will probablybe available in the sedan - with 220 + 10 kW, which rolls to the dealer before the plant holidays. At the same time, an E 450 4MATICwith 270 kW will probably be available here .Here, however, we expect the E 400 4MATIC to come out of service, as does the E 250 with 155 kW.
The first PLUG-IN Hybrid Diesel as E 300 de is expected to roll to customers in September 2018. The new in-line six-cylinder diesel - as the E 350 d and E 400d or E 400 4MATIC (210 or 250 kW) - will be available from April 2018 and will be delivered in June 2018.

S213 - E-Class T-Model The
T-model should - as well as in the sedan - from about April 2018, the E 200 d 110 kW (no new engine) with the new year of change and model ordered, which is still our Expectation in June 2018 rolls to the customer. Then in 2018, the first diesel hybrid for the T-model will come - then according to the typical Mercedes nomenclature as the E 300 de with about 143 + 90 kW, which will be delivered to the customer in September. In the course of January / beginning of February 2018, we additionally expect an order release for the E 300 d with 180 kW (March 2018 at the customer).
The inline six-liter E 350 d with 210 kW will probably be produced for the first time in June 2018 for the T-model. The 190 KW version of the E 350 d 4MATIC will probably be discontinued. The E 400 d - also optionally with 4MATIC (identical to the sedan) - will then be available for order in April 2018 with 250 kW and will also be delivered to the customer in June 2018. The 6-cylinder in-line six-cylinder engine with 250 kW and all-wheel drive will then also replace the previous E 350 d 4MATIC with 190 kW in the all-terrain model in parallel. By contrast, the E 220 d 4MATIC with 143 kW in all-terrain remains.

C238 - E Class Coupé
In the Coupé we expect from March 2018 with the introduction of the E 300 d with 180 kW, in December 2018 with the E 350 d with 210 kW. The new 6-cylinder diesel engine E 400 d with 250 kW and the E 200 4MATICwith 135 kW will probably be available from dealers in June 2018. The previous E 350 d - also with 4MATIC - is no longer required, as is the E 200 without four-wheel drive and 135 kW.
The E 53 Coupé - like the E 450 4MATIC variant with 270 kW - is expected to receive clearance for sale in March and will be delivered for the first time in June at the earliest.
A238 - E Class Cabriolet
For the E Class Cabriolet, we expect the E 450 4MATIC with 270 kW and the E 53 4MATIC (320 + 16 kW) with an order release in March 2017, which will be delivered around June 2017. The E 400 4MATIC with 245 kW will probably expire in mid-2018. The E 300 with 180 kW and the E 350 with 220 + 10 kW can still be ordered.
Official confirmations from Mercedes-Benz are currently not available, so far we expect these engines - on the dates mentioned - only.

So is the article saying the E 450 4matic petrol will be available to order in April 2018 and delivery will start in June? If so surely the E 53 sedan will be released soon?

^ The sedan and estate might keep the non-hybrid E 43 for now according to recent rumors from MB Passion? :)

I can't see that Wolfe. I would except for the 2019 (MY U.S.) all the "400" cars will become "450"s with the new I6. That means the E400 Coupe, Cabrio, Wagon and Sedan will all get the I6 with like 362hp. E43 will def become the E53. I wouldn't touch the E43 now unless they took like 20-25K off a fully loaded example.

Wow they going to replace mostly all of the engines in the E-class in 2018 with the exception of the E220d engine. Big changes indeed. I wonder if the E200 and E300 petrol will get the new M264 4 cylinder engine in low tune or they upgrading existing engine.

I think it is long overdue. Daimler have spent alot of money into the development of this new range of engines.

According to MB passion , the ICE component of E200 will remain the same 135kw but it gets EQB of 10KW, the E300 on the other hand will be getting 190kw instead. The E250 will be dropped.

Parked next to a silver W213 today, interesting to see the shade of silver on the W213 is a little darker. The difference in size and bulk is quit noticeable too.

Despite the obvious difference of the quad headlamps, you can clearly see h
how inspired the W213 is from the W211 in the sense of the flowy styling aka sensual purity..
