There really isn’t any need for it. The CLE53 should be the stopping point. Putting a 4 cylinder over a 6 cylinder as the top of the line is just nuts.

M
AMG's current boss seems to be adamant on the 4 cylinder, despite every enthusiast telling him otherwise.
Yes I know they sunk a lot of R&D into the P3 powertrain, but plonking into a C63 making it heavier than an S-class and wondering why nobody likes its dynamics is silly.
They should have kept it for the S63 and the GT63s 4-door with their V8 hybrids and just ate the cost.

Anyone here that was sitting in the new CLE? Is it the same old C class or is it noticeably roomier? I was also wondering if the build quality of the interior is better. I know it's made of the same cheap plastic, but maybe it is put together better? So it does not creak as much

The number of Mercedes models of this generation that do not pass 3.5 stars is enormous and like never before seen.
I can accept anything but getting in and the interior having squeaky plastics is a deal breaker for me, and I don't understand why it isn't for all, being Mercedes Benz cars.

"The new Mercedes CLE borrows a lot from the C-Class and E-Class, and as a result doesn’t really feel like an all-new car. "

"The CLE is no sports car – especially with this diesel powertrain."

Well it's not "anything" it's a Mercedes CLE coupe
Being a coupé doesn't necessitate sports-car like driving dynamics. It's a big, soft, comfortable, GT cruiser, and there's nothing wrong with it being that.

There's a reason cars are getting more homogeneous and boring. Cause every f#cking car must be a sports car + family car + grand tourer + SUV.

And the funny thing is, even cars like the 4-series (non-M models) and new 5 series. They have sporting pretensions; slightly stiffer ride, sharper steering ratio, but absolutely no steering feel. So what's the point?

^ Such a nice and goodlooking coupé. It makes you almost forget some aspects of the interior that shout ‘cost saving’. But then again, all German manufacturers are on this gastly cost saving trip. If you want an interior that’s still old school in the sense of interior quality, you must buy a car that’s at least 7 years or more on the market. Audi A5 coupé is a good option.
