C-Class (W206) [Official] Mercedes Benz C-Class (W206)

The Mercedes-Benz C-Class (W206) is the fifth generation of the Mercedes-Benz C-Class which is produced by Mercedes-Benz Group AG since 2021. It replaces the W205 C-Class which had been produced since 2014. The fifth-generation C-Class is available in sedan (W206), station wagon/estate (S206), and long-wheelbase sedan (V206) body styles. The W206 C-Class is based on the Mercedes MRA II rear-wheel drive modular platform also used by the W223 S-Class.

W213 FL like changes here.
Exterior looks like a facelift.
Profile is almost identical. It's 90% the same car.
Will no doubt take it over the 3-Series but I'm not a fan really.
Need to see more interior combos.

In this pic the grill looks far too big... :/
Obviously Daimler is going BMW/Audi way...every time a bigger grill . Not good.

Door panel finish is a downgrade from the W205. The fabric lining has been removed. I hope there's some soft tactility to the door plastics as it appears to extend up to the touch points and at least some felt lining within the pocket.

What kind of interior would you prefer? Any examples?
One that doesn't have the screen as the main feature, one that doesn't have touch activation for most commonly used buttons and one that has buttons for most commonly used functions.

My issue with huge LCD screens is that they will look dated in 3-4 years time, the same way a 3 years old mobile phone nowadays feels a decade old. A car is a very expensive item that needs to look as good as it does now, at least a couple of decades. Or else, it's a consumable.

The W222 interior, despite reminding me of an expensive brothel, was an almost perfect interior in the sense that the screen is not the center of the interior design.

Personally, I find the BMW F10 5er interior to be on the top of my list!

I am sure it's a good car, and it'll be successful. But I don't really like it. Grill is a little too big, and sits a bit too low IMO. Side profile is nice, but bland. And I still hate those triangular shaped back lights that keep showing up in every MB these days. Interior is attractive, but I am not a fan of big I-pads. I prefer the 3-series in this class.

They are lcd or oled?
Doesn’t matter, from a business stand point this is brilliant and as intended.. they want your car to look outdated after 4-5 years - to buy the newer one
In these days a lot of people keep their cars around 4-5 years or even less. So, is not a big deal..a big deal will be if the cars will get redesign after 1-2 years

Im pleased with the end result.

The 205 is a pretty car, but there has always been something about it that never fully clicked with me. Perhaps it was the rear (too short?), or the overall profile.

The 206 seems to perfect a lot of those traits from the 205. Evolutionary, yes, but with the best of the new elements of the MB design language.

I always make it a procedure to reserve final judgement until I view the vehicle in person, but from what I see here, it is very pretty.

I am very happy to see the C-class turn out even better than expected. For sure maybe it's not as distinctive as it marries a lot of the A-class and S-class styling cues in a different sized package, but it is still a great looking saloon, that looks sporty and elegant all in one.

The AMG package is a must, the front looks superb in this shot, I love the new grill with tiny Mercedes stars

This standard model without AMG trim looks really plain jane in white.

What I am really surprised about and maybe was expecting more is despite the power increases on all the new 4-cylinder engines they are no faster or in some cases slower accelerating than the previous equivalent W205 models. Even some of the diesel engined versions (220d) are inferior in fuel consumption despite the mild hybrid powertrain which is supposed to reduce consumption. I am suspecting that maybe the new model due to extra size could be heavier than the previous model.

I'm making an assumption based on the photos, but I think the door handles are more ergonomically placed than the current generation now that they are placed higher up and further forward on the door panel.

Good point on the doorhandles. Always felt my CLA doorhandles were much better placed. In my C, whenever I have a passenger I always see them fumbling and reaching for the seat control instead of the handle to open their door.

Conversely I feel the 5 series is horribly dated in terms of its aesthetics.

Interesting fact... In Australia all 3-series come with the M sports pack as standard with the option to delete the m sports suspension ension.

You can opt to have another pack at no cost if you're daft. :ROFLMAO:

My one fear and from photos it's not entirely clear, but I think it may be true... The black trim on the door panels where the speaker is could be hard plastic... if so, that would be awful
Same, it certainly looks like it is made from hard plastics. similar to the A /CLA class
