A-Class [Official] Mercedes-Benz A-Class (W177)

The Mercedes-Benz A-Class is a car manufactured by Mercedes-Benz. It has been marketed across generations as a front-engine, front-wheel drive, five-passenger, five-door hatchback, with a three-door hatchback offered for the second generation, as well as a saloon version for the fourth.
Amazing that the A-class hatch, B-class and GLA are almost the identical length and widths but only difference is height. CLA, GLB and GLA are same width. Mercedes designers really fined tuned the cars to be withing millimeters of each other in size.

And three wheelbases. :)

From Coupé via Shooting Brake to SUV: broad range in the compact class

With the GLA the new compact car family from Mercedes-Benz now consists of eight models. With three wheelbase lengths, front and all-wheel drive as well as petrol, diesel and hybrid models, the range is broad in scope. In the form of the GLB, Mercedes-Benz is now for the first time offering a compact model with seven seats. In addition there are the sporty versions from Mercedes-AMG. Since the launch of the first A-Class, the first compact car from Mercedes-Benz, in 1997, more than seven million vehicles belonging to this segment have been delivered worldwide by Mercedes-Benz. Since the GLA made its market debut in 2014, around a million units of this compact SUV have been handed over to customers all over the world. Source: Daimler

Good comparison and surprising win for the A-class. It looks to be a great all round car although it is a close run between all of them. The Audi and Golf disappoint in their interior quality and design, they seem to lost the plot against older models. The hard plastic upper door panels on the Audi is really nasty considering its supposed to be a premium brand. Alot of evident cost cutting in the A3 and Golf interiors.

The A-Class in rhe UK is killing it in UK. It's the 5th top selling car. I am not surprised though.

No hatchback has ever looked as sleek and the interior is a glamorous as a Hollywood red-carpet.

1. Ford Fiesta – 29,891
2. Ford Focus – 25,517
3. Vauxhall Corsa – 25,182
4. Volkswagen Golf – 19,370
5. Mercedes-Benz A-Class - 19,370
6. Nissan Qashqai – 18,736
7. MINI - 16,528
8. Volkswagen Polo – 14,512
9. Volkswagen Tiguan - 14,467
10. Toyota Yaris - 13,546

The Mercedes A 250e plug-in hybrid was the best-selling plug-in hybrid in Europe in 2020

With 28,530 units, the Mercedes-Benz A 250e plug-in hybrid takes first place among plug-in hybrid models in Europe in 2020. The Volvo XC40 REcharge follows in second place with 27,051 units. This is followed by the Mitsubishi Outlander in third place with 26,379 units.

The Mercedes-Benz 250e models turned out extremely well. A long range of up to 70 km. In addition, a very intelligent packaging, where the exhaust ends at the level of the B-pillar. So you don't have to route it through the battery (saddle battery). This then means that you have more space for the battery. This saves the 12 volt battery and the starter and supplies the 12 volt on-board network with a DC / DC converter from the 15.6 kWh high-voltage (400V) battery. Although the Mercedes EQA only has one drivetrain on board, it has around 45 liters less luggage space, as its plug-in hybrid brother in the GLA 250e. This makes it clear what an efficient packaging Mercedes has achieved with the 250e plug-in hybrid models. 2 drive trains accommodated in the vehicle without major loss of luggage space. In addition, for users without their own wallbox at home, the possibility of charging the plug-in hybrid to 80% in 25 minutes at the discounter using a 24 kW DC CCS charging plug is currently unique.
