It's a huge shame that Mercedes have decided to prositute the panamerica grille.

46 miles of electric only range? Vast improvement over other hybrid Mercedes, but still nothing compared to an full EV. Again, why do they bother with these?

M

Maybe I don't fully understand these hybrid models yet, but if it works like I think it does, it would actually suit me quite well. 46 miles electric range is more than enough for 95% of my journeys such as going to work, shopping locally etc, but unless it could do the 5% of journeys that I need to do, such as trips of 1,500 miles over a few days without having to worry about plugging it in to charge, I would never buy one. A BEV is just of no interest to me at the moment.

Ouch really scathing remarks, then again I stopped taking CH seriously a while ago.

Let me get this straight. Chris Harris is a respected motoring journalist who has been carrying out his profession (yeah, profession, as in he gets paid for his opinion) for over 20 years, writing for Autocar, EVO, amongst others. On top of the many videos he's made that are viewed in their millions, he presents the most famous "light" motoring TV programme in the world. When not doing stuff in the media, he races cars professionally, and has done so since 2000, competing in everything from the Blancpain GT Series to the Nurburgring 24 hours.

And you, someone who doesn't seem to have any experiences of cars of their own, and instead steals their opinions of cars from other people's YouTube videos like some kind of magpie, doesn't take him seriously?

Riiiiggghhhhtttt...

MULTI-LINK REAR AXLE ON COMPACT SERIES

A multi-link rear suspension on many compact cars from Mercedes-Benz ensures a more confident roadholding - and in many variants, this is already standard equipment.

FOUR-LINK REAR SUSPENSION in the COMPACT CLASS

The sophisticated four-link rear suspension utilizes three transverse arms and one trailing arm at each rear wheel configured for maximum driving stability and comfort. With the CLA Coupé, Shooting Brake of the series 118 as well as with the GLB (X247) and GLA the option is already standard with the entry level engine installed, otherwise with the A and B class from the motorization of the A 250 or 200 d or with 18 or 19-inch tires and all 4MATIC variants ex works. The entry-level models get here a torsion beam rear axle.

LONGITUDINAL AND LATERAL DYNAMICS TUNED INDEPENDENTLY

For a sporty driving style, longitudinal and lateral dynamics are tuned almost independently of each other. The rear axle is decoupled from the bodyshell and transmits less vibration and noise from the chassis to the bodywork, which makes the vehicle roll smoothly even at higher speeds.

Amazing that the A-class hatch, B-class and GLA are almost the identical length and widths but only difference is height. CLA, GLB and GLA are same width. Mercedes designers really fined tuned the cars to be withing millimeters of each other in size.
