Range Rover [Official] Gen 5 Range Rover

The Land Rover Range Rover, generally shortened to Range Rover, is a 4x4 luxury SUV produced by Land Rover, a marque and sub-brand of Jaguar Land Rover. The Range Rover line has been in production since it was launched in 1970 by British Leyland. Additional models have been launched under the Range Rover name, including the Range Rover Sport, Range Rover Evoque, and Range Rover Velar.
just to ram the point home - just been out on not very quick cycle - it is hot - around Solihull, Knowle, Dorridge etc - places very near the LR factory, and in £1m+ house-land, for 90 mins or so, and saw not one new Range Rover, not even test ones, but did see two, maybe three, Taycans, one a Turismo thing, which seem to be overtaking the standard car in demand - as you would expect, given the sloping, near useless rear of the standard car.

JLR is dying, dead, without an EV. A very expensive, money-spinning, put-through-the-company in UK, tax-giveaway EV.

It looks good in darker and grey colours though.

Saw a dark blue one today. Wasn't sure if it was new from the front until I made my around the back. Looked a bit underwhelming. Needs lighter colors IMO.

This new RR is a boss of an SUV, the interior looks as good as a Bentley and the exterior design is the new benchmark. Fantastic car.

I have seen it in the matte champagne launch colour. The colour is stunning.
I was expecting more visual mass when I saw it in person, but I didn't really get that. I think lighter metallic colors would do a better job of providing that. Plus it would provide a nice contrast the brightworks of the trim, which provide a differentiator when compared to its predecessor. I wanted to check out the interior, but I'd feel like a creeper if I peered into some random's car in a parking lot. ;)

I just realised that the F Pace facelift interior looks extremely like the Range Rover inteior but launched in......2020.

Yeah but Bollore plans to 'reimagine' the F-Pace as £200k 'uber-luxury'. You're right - cut and paste.

The last real-deal Range Rover was the L322 - Reitzle, Ford PAG, wanted to finish the unfinished business of BMW's ownership of Land Rover, by making the Range Rover a Bentley/Rolls-Royce car. He had plans, for this, almost 20 years ago.

Now, we get a £60k F-Pace interior, and the crowd go wild. I prefer the Jag steering wheel. The Range Rover one looks wrong. Make it 2-spoke, or make the half-hearted under bit do something. McGovern, 'design genius'.

Today I popped into a JLR dealership. On inspection the F-Pace and 2023 RR interior are extremely alike. Swap the steering wheels around, put someone into either cars and they won’t think that anything is odd. Quality differences are minor and very flattering for the Jag. Even the receptionist was shaking her head in agreement when I pointed out how nearly identical the interior are.

The only edge the RR has is in seats and lid for cup holders. Comically, the Jag cabin looks more alike the RR than the Velar.

I can't, until today, understand the craze for this new RR??

Ok, it has some smart looks in certain pictures and the clean body makes the chest freezer look a bit more pleasent, but thats its, surely? Front and back are already dying. Interior is a typical evolutionary JLR interior. If you want to talk about interiors, talk about the new 7er which is out of this world or X7... This brand cant really revolutionize, period.

This car and the image it has on the road is so annoying - it isnt a status like the S or 7 - its just a show-off car due to its size and a imature, recent 'Hype' it has gained. Ask ourselves a question, do we actually 'like' the 'car' or the 'image and hype' it has??

Silly you. Don't you know that a fold down arm rest thingy, on EACH front seat, is worth £tens of thousands more?

Talking of sky high prices, and that tumbleweed JLR showroom - the hype meets reality - have you seen what's happening with car prices generally, at this minute? It's so bad Times Radio this morning crowbarred in a gratuitous comment from one of their presenters - reading from the script - saying his car is now worth more, while 'reporting' on 'Chip Shortages' with their 'tech reporter', and of course mentioning Giles Coren's multiply stolen I-Pace, for the millionth time - because everyone is desperate for them. The PR/lies/stuntery is now threadbare, where surely the dumbest must see the literal script they're following - 'keep talking up house, rent, car, ...everything prices, for the love of god, and our BTL investments, and stables of 'classic'/investment cars'.

The reality - just this morning - not even catch a falling knife territory. The Buyers, WBAC and co, who of course set the market, are throwing out joke - as in suicidal for owners - prices , or not quoting at all. Take this nice car for an example:

https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202208259117684?postcode=PE92RN&sort=datedesc&include-delivery-option=on&radius=1500&exclude-writeoff-categories=on&year-to=2022&advertising-location=at_cars&make=Volvo&onesearchad=New&onesearchad=Nearly New&onesearchad=Used&page=2&percentVehiclePriceDeposit=true

- nice motor. Yes, it's not ULEZ, a demerit, but just a few months ago £11k for that would not have seemed such strong money. Now, the trader will be lucky to shift it for £8k, maybe even £7.5k - check WBAC etc.

It's gone off a cliff territory. WBAC and co. are basically saying - 'we don't want your cars, cos no one's buying; there is no market; but if you insist, we'll skin you alive'.

This may seem totally Off Topic, but the whole car market in UK has collapsed, save for high end EV. And, with tomorrow, it'll be stone dead.

No one's buying £150k Range Rovers, when house prices are doing a swan dive - uncovered by the Media for obvious reason.

15-20% official inflation by early next year, will mean the BoE have cover to raise base rate to 5%, which means mortgages at over 10%, which means the pricking of the ~£20 trillion balloon of UK property 'value'.

That buys, or not-buys, a LOT of new Range Rovers.

I feel compelled to point out that the UK sales figures for this month will look terrible anyway, because August. And, given previous such actions, and the relatively small number recently imported so far this year, there's a good chance that Tesla will indeed get the Model 3 or Y (or both), to the top of the sales chart. This has happened before and I'd suggest therefore, that it wouldn't be evidence of the British car industry having collapsed... we're seeing that already, in slow motion, since 2015/2016 with pretty much every month trending downwards YoY.

September, could be more telling. Though I remain far from convinced that the top 10 will be populated by that many "high end" EV's.

Because it is one of the most beautiful cars now. Well balanced and elegant. And the rear is just wow. Thats why we like it.

However it has two weak parts.
-The front dash inside could have been more original.

And that key fob, jeez it doesn't belong to this car. It looks too cheap.

My friend drives his Xc40 and its
key fob feels and looks so good and expensive.
