X1 Official BMW X1 Thread

The BMW X1 is a line of cars produced by BMW since 2009. A subcompact luxury crossover class, the first-generation X1 was based on the E90 3 Series and offered rear-wheel drive layout as standard. The second-generation X1 marked the switch to a front-wheel-drive-based layout using the UKL2 platform shared with the BMW 2 Series Active Tourer and the Mini Countryman.
And there really isn't anything wrong with the quality either. I've inspected it first hand now; it's a fine little interior. Definitely better than the regular 1er :)

It's better than pre-facelifted 1-series but it aint better than my facelifted 1-series. And yes I jumped directly from a 1-series to X1.
With that said 1-series doens't have a bad interior and its certainly not worse than 3-series.

Today I was as the finals of the Stockholm Open tennis, of course, BMW was there too.

BMW took the opportunity to really showcase the whole efficiency and green image parade. Present were the X5, many X6, X6M, lots of 5-series GT and the X1 (one 7-series and one 1-series Coupe were there too).

The X1 was in Vermilion red, a good colour on the car but nothing for me. Regarding the interor, it is largely the same as the 1-series, not much at all separating them and this is jumping back and forth between the 1-series and the X1.

The X1 is not a big car, especially not on the inside.

 It's exactly the same in terms of materials Klier, if only arranged in a slightly different manner.

Check again :jpshakehe

The ultra cheap plastic in the lower parts is a big turnoff though, and completely out of place in a car still costing much more than the avarage car.

I saw a brown X1 in the traffic today, and was left totally unimpressed. It's small, it has an ugly steep front, it doesn't look interesting. Proportions are weird.

Reminds me of the X3.

Should sell like hotcakes though, the concept is good. It does look quite premium and sporty from the outside.

Besides some details, the 1 series interior is mostly on par with the 3 (one of these details being the fabric/leatherette of the M Sport seats in the 1). This being said, the X1 seems to be a whole class lower (interior wise), at least to me. The plastic used for the center console is nothing short of unacceptable to me. Other than that, the X1 is a really gorgeous car, especially in Deep Sea Blue.

Does anybody know if we will see a 2lt 4cyl (170hp or 150hp) motor motor in the X1?

(a friend wants to know)

120i

Hi Nikos
I think that we will see a X1 1.8iSdrive in the beginning of next year
it's a detuned version of the 2.0 petrol engine 150hp i think :t-hands:

When will this 18i appear? Do you guys know?

Why will BMW use this "old" engine and not the new Efficient Dynamics engines?

The "old" one can be used around the world and is not dependant on high-quality-fuel. Of course BMW says that the engine is not "old", there is just an even more modern one on the market... CO2-Emissions will be at 191 g/km.
It will be introduced between january and march in Germany, don't know for the rest of the world.
