X1 Official BMW X1 Thread

The BMW X1 is a line of cars produced by BMW since 2009. A subcompact luxury crossover class, the first-generation X1 was based on the E90 3 Series and offered rear-wheel drive layout as standard. The second-generation X1 marked the switch to a front-wheel-drive-based layout using the UKL2 platform shared with the BMW 2 Series Active Tourer and the Mini Countryman.
A couple of weeks ago I met a 5-series GT followed by the new 7-series and X1.
5 GT was ugly, new 7er beautiful and the X1 had attitude and looking tough.

^Hmm,I would not call X1 tiny car..I saw it in person and its quite huge by my standards actually..

As long as Steven Seagal sits in the front. At 6'4" he'd be a touch cramped in the rear. As for the other three short shits - they can sit wherever they like... ;)

Oh and I do like those comparison shots with the A4 Allroad. Puts the X1 very nicely into perspective. And, I also think it looks far better than the garishly trimmed and unhandsome Allroad.

X1m?

The next generation M1 will use a four cylinder Turbo all in the name of Efficient Dynamics and making the M1 Lighter than it's short lived predecessor.
Can we expect a four cylinder Turbo "X1 M" with all the Efficient Dynamics bells and whistles?

^ But X5 M is already here, so do you want ANOTHER X M model....?

IMO, the perfect car from all these X models to fit the M name is the upcoming X3.

Yeah, it would be perfect for the X3, if the X3 is built to be light and low, RWD and make use of at least an optional manual gearbox. Furthermore, the X3 should, in order to be perfect for an M badge, get really good brakes and optional track spec tyres.

New X1 sdrive18i and xdrive25i with 4cyl and 6cyl engines respectively:

BMW Adds New Four- and Six-Cylinder Gasoline Engines to X1 SUV Range

Is this the "old" 2lt 150hp motor the 320i used to have on, before the LCI?
