8 Series (G15) [Official] BMW 8 Series Coupé (G15)


The second-generation of the BMW 8 Series consists of the G14 (convertible version), G15 (two-door coupe version) grand tourers, and G16 (four-door "Gran Coupe" sedan version) executive cars (E). The G14/G15/G16 generation has been in production since 2018, and is often collectively referred to as the G15. It replaced the F06/F12/F13 6 Series lineup. Production: 2018-

2019 BMW M850i xDrive Cabriolet Looks Stunning in Sunset Orange Metallic
Ahead of its impending debut, the 8 Series Cabriolet has popped up in another color, Sunset Orange Metallic. This is just a fresh set of spyshots, but there's so little camouflage that you could just be looking at your rich neighbor's next car.
Burnt orange/red is such a traditional BMW color that it's almost like looking at the old 6 Series Cabriolet. Of course, the blue in the headlights, signaling lasers, firmly cements this in the modern era. And this is no ordinary 8er.

Until the M8 Cabriolet arrives, this M850i is going to be the fastest, most powerful version you can buy. And with xDrive matched to a sonorous 8-cylinder, few people would even need more. German convertibles are all about the presence they give up, which is why BMW felt the need to give ts V8s an M Performance look.

Of course, it's possible that this is the M850d with a 3-liter quad-turbo diesel. Such a model is coming, at least for the 8-Coupe. However, we're starting to doubt the usefulness of such a powertrain, especially as there's a huge performance gap between the 400 HP diesel and its 530 horsepower gasoline-burning counterpart.

Other powertrains will be available as well, mostly 3-liter units. However, BMW has diligently trademarked everything right down to a 830i.

An M Performance body kit makes this car look like it costs at least $120,000... which it will. The M850i gets bigger front air intakes, brushed metal trim, mesh grilles and our favorite square-tipped exhaust system integrated into the diffuser.

There's some hardcore mechanical hardware, like those clever anti-roll bars, torque vectoring all-wheel drive and the quickest 8-speed auto around.

BMW hinted that convertibles aren't selling and that it wants to can some of them. But they still built the Z4 and are working on a 4 Series drop-top replacement. So the only thing they dropped is the 2 Series.

Full Merino looks good, now BMW needs to remove those cheap plastic buttons from all the controls and at-least upgrade to 7 series level.
 
My fascination grows ! As things momentarily stand, BMWs' new 8 series and Porsches' 992 Carrera (and it will be indeed very good) occupy the first two steps (not as of yet decided in which order) of Germanys' automotive beauty pageant podium.
 
I don’t understand how BMW believes this interior design is good enough against some of the works of art witnessed at this level.

Hell even the new X5 looks positively sculptural next to this bore fest.
