7 Series (G11) [Official] BMW 7 Series (G11/12)

The BMW G11 is the sixth generation of the BMW 7 Series, produced from 2015 to 2022. Model codes: G11 (short-wheelbase version), and G12 (long-wheelbase version) luxury saloons, collectively referred to as the G11. Production: July 2015–2022. Model years: 2016–2022.
The VIPS have come and gone.
There's people in line for those 'private viewings' by now.
Lol, well I'm not going to get involved with your ongoing bickering with Merc1 -- I like both of you so I won't take sides ;)

I don't know why no pics are allowed when the car has been unveiled for a month already.

I know it is kind of unusual. Maybe it is because the car is launched later in the year for North America? But they are allowing photographs at European viewings now that it has been revealed.

How is the initial demand so far, Scott? I mean, comparatively speaking, how do the no. of orders look in this first month after the unveiling, in comparison to the F01, or the competitors?

There has been over 100,000 enquiries of interest through the web site on the new 7er and that is just under a month since introduction.
There is a healthy order bank for the new X1 so far, similar to reaction of the first generation of X1.

The Gran Tourer is proving popular also again joining further increased sales for the Active Tourer.
In which it may not be to everybody's preference. But there are customers that appreciate the flexibility that is on offer for the first time within a compact BMW.

If only half of the amount you mentioned above breaks the bank and places an order, you are looking at approximately 50,000 orders even before mass production starts (not to mention the fact that there 2 are more months before SOP)....Very impressive Scott, couple this with the demand for the new X1, Gran Tourer and the Active Tourer; and I bet BMW dealers worldwide really do have their hands full lately (y)

And do you seriously think anywhere close to 50% of the people registering interest in the new 7 Series are going to place an order? It won't even be in double figures percentage wise.

Nope, been to the exclusive preview at the BMW Welt last week and no photos were allowed..

Yes the web site now follows through to the BMW partner network so you get an immediate response from the partner/dealer in order to extend your interest ie test drive , event showing etc.
so far we have had a good response and callback between potential customers and the partners who would like to explore the new car further which more or less could lead to the purchase of a unit.
We also have had interest from fleet services that specialise in luxury cars as exclusive taxis.

And just like the Mercedes-Benz S-Klasse it is inevitable we will see the 7er in the typical beige of a German taxi.
