S Class has option to drive and steer itself autonomously. So no need for him to steer the car himself

Guys I could experience today the new 7 and I've got lots of pictures and I will write something what I could expire one thing I will tell you that the long wheelbase is different to the short wheelbase in the d pillar section one line is different on those two wheelbases.

I was just writing this, then I read your post. It's the most BMW looking 7 series since the E38.

I noticed on the picture that the Two wheelbases are different But i have finali discovered standing next to it and touching it. Sorry i can't upload pictures now But they will be uploaded. I can without to have my bmw Googles on that this Design have meny small Details you can discover. It is very different from the other Modells.
You have to expirience the Design in real to come to you.
It have A disco security stance and in the Same time it looks elegant like A weamon in a italian Dress.
The interior ia elegant and the quality is high class on the same Level like the s class But some milimeters behindthe a8.

And everybody Who said the gesture control isn't intuitive and a pointless gadget is wrong. It works very good and is a next into the Feature yes i would not want more different hand signs Maximum 7 because it would be to much.

Last saturday I had the opportunity to sit in a black metallic 730d with shadowline. Specified with M-package, black nappaleather seats and upper dashboard, comfortseats with massage, HUD, Harman/Kardon stereo (is the mid range system), laserlight and a few other goodies. German price € 114.500. I touched everything in the car: steering wheel, roof, dashboard and seats, all buttons I could find and operated the gesture control, massageseats, sound etc. I didn't drive it.

Personal review:
overall it's typical BMW, exterior and interior. Looking at it from the side, one tends to think the designteam was a bit too evolutionary. The 20" M-wheels are a bit too big for a car in this class, for my personal taste. Exterior made a strong, sporty impression, not chique/luxury at all.

The interior irl looked less beautiful, as I expected. To me, it is a typical BMW interior, but in a much better quality than it ever has been before. It's quite an upgrade coming from a F01. The haptic feeling I got from touching the buttons wasn't one of touching real metal. Buttons in the doors, the HVAC-unit and around the gear lever felt like coated or galvanised plastic. I only had my doubts about the buttons around the I-drive knob; could be metal, not sure. The gear lever itself is made of black plastic, but felt like high quality material. The quality of the nappaleather seats didn't convince at all. Looks and feels a bit plastic and must become better in future.

The wood really looks good and of high quality. Especially combined with the ambiente lighting, it's an eyecatcher. Positive to mention as well: it had a normal sunroof (not a panoramic roof). The gesture control functions flawless, but I didn't get the feeling it adds something.

The only real let down, was the soundsystem. Very poor sound quality. The midrange Burmester in the W222 sounds way better (to my ears). I'd advice anyone to listen first before ordering the H/K system. The top of the range B&W system wasn't available.

Overall a good looking german sedan with a nicely put together interior, but for me nothing special, nothing that could make me think: I must have this car.

If you want a special car get a Maserati, the germans are too 'clean and perfect'. For me a M4 or C63 is more special than both S-class,7er or A8. I dont get whats so special about this 'luxury' segment.

For me it's the driving experience as such and the fact they're usually full of 'state of the art' technique. But I think I know what you're saying.
