The W140 is probably the last over engineered car and hard to believe that it cost over $1 Billion to develop this car in the 1980s. Built like a tank but some really innovative tech. I remember the 600SEL V12 had the largest catalytic converter fitted to any car at 7ltr.

I just love the interior on this S600 coupe. It has many important touches that are missing in new Mercedes interiors.

Look at the door cards with real pleated leather, wooden handles and classy wood trim and carpet at the bottom of the door cards.

The bottom of the dash also has deep pile carpet on the passenger side.

The rear central seat divider has real classy wood trim and the door cards also have pleated leather and wood trim.

The material quality is just in another league compared to modern Mercedes models

Lovely as the inside is, I'm just not sold on the exterior looks of the C140. It's just not as good as the C126 or the C215 in that regard.
