Really, again....
i was posting something like this maybe 2 or 3 times, and always it was answer to someone's post. And maybe you can quote some of my "trolling" post, and not just accusing me...

Really. Because this is what you do a lot of times. But hey, blaim it on me, it´s probably my fault in part as well. I´m digging less and less the forumers who simply can´t say anything good about any other brand than their owns. I guess I like fans, not cheerleaders.

I think what tomazino refers to is this:
It looks like a giant 3-Series.

BMW'S not making a big song and dance about the 4 corner air suspension. So I guess they didn't reinvent the system per se. Certainly not like Porsche claimed back when the Panny was launched.

Then again let's face it and be honest, can anything compare or stack up against Daimler's ABC strut and damper technology?

Well, IMO guys, the G11 does NOT look like a giant 3-series, but then again this is my opinion.Granted, there is some resemblance in between the two, but then again that much is elementary, given they come from the same family, meaning the design language applied, CANNOT be radically different (this has to be as different as it gets)...As for the Merc's and Audi's all looking alike and etc, I just will not comment on it because this is neither the right thread (that's what the Internal Combustion section is for) nor the right time (with the emotions seemingly running so high)...All I can tell you is that I appreciate both brands for what they are, and YES, I honestly believe that both the W222 and the G11, or the C-Class and the current 3-series (in reference to previous arguments) are great cars with huge attractiveness and appeal in their own right, THIS is my own opinion of course.
Anyway, people CAN have differing opinions, but this does NOT mean they can,
1) get to troll for emotional outbursts from other members just to defend their fav brands
(do you see me trolling at the threads on car brands I do not like?I just troll on funny stuff, or the all-time worst cars accepted by masses)
2) take any opinion (whether they agree or disagree) personal and strike back by calling names...

Therefore, even though I am NOT A MODERATOR in this forum, I would kindly like to invite all parties to dropping this very argument, just for the sake of peaceful coexistence

Please note that I have been around various forums in the past, but have eventually lost interest due to people taking comparisons between brands into personal vendettas...The reason I have still been around at GCF is because SO FAR, it seems to have been the most civilized one....KEEP IT THAT WAY GUYS, PRETTY PLEASE?

Actually just your comments on the matter are.

M
I'm sorry, probably not my business but I can't be the only one wondering why your comments on the matter are more relevant than his?
BTW I agree with him  Does that mean my comment is irrelevant aswell? :p

All of us should not forget one thing: design has to be understood. And since design is not just looks but a rather complex interplay of various factors, we have to work to understand it. There are many people you are not willing to work for it at all (and find a Golf thrilling enough), most of the rest are 'economic'. They spend most of their efforts on their favorite brand. You could call it imprinting.

So it's no wonder that some of us find it hard to believe that the G11 looks like a 3 series to people, and that others find it easy to differentiate S and C class. We just learned to see the specific details and focus on those.

But if a design has to be explained, is it then good enough to be given to the ones not in the know? You know, like customers?

@SKY not sure why you're attacking Tomazino when Merc1-Yong-Il and his gang are the trolls.

At least I have seen him saying good things about BMWs. Something that I cannot say about tomazino. You like his style of posting? Fine. I don´t. As I have said, I like fans, not cheerleaders. I don´t agree with what Merc1 has said, but the rage some of you show against that kind of comments is by no means better IMO.

Tomazino doesn't troll the MB forum at all. Has he ever posted there? I think not. He is merely responding to someone else's post.

Responding in a trollish way. But hey, thumbs up for those staying always on a single brand forum and quoting with rage to those who dare to say something negative about one´s brand. How fortunate to love everything a brand does and bitch about the other´s work.

The post was misunderstandable, sorry. What I meant to say was: in order to determine whether design is good or bad, it needs to be evaluated and understood, not just looked at. Most people (not freaks like us) just look. They say 'like' and buy it and mostly cannot verbalize their judgment. They also don't care much about explanations. On the other hand, there are guys like us who have developed explicit visual preferences and expectations that form the foundation of our design judgments. If you wanted to truly understand or even 'modify' such informed opinions, you needed to do a lot of evaluation, explanation etc.
