I assumed it was some sort of aluminum, really the only aspect I didn't care for. Maybe it is something new and if it is, definitely not digging it.

You're right. It's an alu trim ... Is definitely a metal ... clearly seen on the "through-the-trunk" images above (with rear seats folded down) ...

On all the other pics the lighting is horrible!

One of the things I hope BMW stops doing in due time (and something I REALLY hope they don't continue too strongly with on the F10), is the way they make their cars look so "fat". It just makes them look both ungainly, and unsightly to me, not to mention making my eyes tire of them quicker. It always used to be that most cars on the road look bloated and fat, and the Germans, Jag's, etc. always had more slender and leaner looks (while sometimes still being wider, and/or larger than other cars on the road). More recently, BMW has kind of went the other direction in that regard.

yup, photos taken at Spartanburg Performance Center when some US journalists went..including us. We were asked not to take photos since it wasn't a production ready vehicle, but Donald usually doesn't listen )))

The interior is really quite something, did you guys at BMW blog get in ? If so what are your thoughts quality and design wise ?

I´m really curious about the interior too. Specially for the new F10. I mean, this 5er GT I think is clearly above the new E-Class in terms of design and probably in quallity (or at least how the plastics feel). So I would like to know if the next F10 will have the same quallity (c´mon, even the AC controls includo two different "Auto" buttons) or if it will be less luxurious.

It would cause me pain, if i have to drive in such a car. Did i ever say, the Panamera looks like pimp my ride? Sorry, the Panamera is God compared to this...
