Yes indeed, Drive comparisons are now a joke, that is why I didn't bother posting this. Their selection of cars and comparison makes non sense what so ever.
CarAdvice are so much better even though they don't usually do big comparisons.

Pretty much, ever since the start of CarAdvice, the previously established Australian motoring websites such as Drive, Carsales, Wheels, Motor have been put to shades.

Not sure why I like the regular LS500 F Sport so much.

BMW may have been the first with a signature DRL, but it was Audi with its LED DRLs that really inspired copy cats across the industry. They really are the lighting signature masters.

The first LED lights (tail lights) on a vehicle was actually Maserati with their nice 3200GT.

I'd rather the LED DRL's though. Halogen DRL's weren't pretty, except for BMW's angel eyes of course :D.

I had forgotten that BMW called them angel eye , the E53 X5s were pretty cool as well. BMW really started a trend with their angel eyes.

Didn’t the e39 facelift had also led tail lights?

CELIS LED by Hella for position rear lights, yes. Tubes with LED-fed optic fiber spirale. A form of indirect LED lighting solution. Same tech as for DtRL "angel eyes" / "corona rings" in the headlight units. Other lights (blinkers, reverse lights, braking lights, fog lights, low & high beam etc) were not LED.
