I really prefer the standard steering wheel to the M sport wheel.
I've used it for muting and turning up the volume and for answering phone calls. It does take 1 or 2 times circeling with you finger before it reacts, after that it functioned good. Taking on calls with the "pointing 2 fingers"-gesture functioned as well. So it actually functioned rather well the few times I used it and I didn't have unasked for functioning, like Betty did. What did you think of the gesture control when you had the 7er?
Agree. It would have been different, if the complete dash, steering wheel and interior was kept in blue. In fact I like that, such an uni-coloured interior. It's something seen quite often in the seventies, especially Mercedes-Benz offered it. Hmm, I guess that makes me old too...In my opinion the blue leather interior option is problematic. Blue is a difficult colour to match with and, again imo, dark blue and black are poor matches so...

... this interior combo simply doesn't work. In the old days, this colour combo was considered a fashion faux pas. Apparently it is no longer.
Still, I wouldn't be seen dead in a black suit with a dark blue (navy) shirt. But I'm old now.
Furthermore, even if you are predisposed to the above interior, it will also need to paired with the correct exterior colour and I reckon only white and perhaps silver will work.
In the end, this colour combination is a risky one and I'm not sure if it will be that appealing for dealers when they have to trade your G30 in.

You feeling alright boet? After digesting the exterior design of the new 5er, I have to say that I simply cannot fault it at all. It's exquisite - the flow of the hoffmeister that has been built into the sheet metal and the shoulder lines is so fantastic!
No, as of now you can't. In most markets that is. It removes the M-Pack when added and vice versa.
Don't be mistaken by the M wheel. The configurator is still rough around the edges it seems.
More likely Carbon Black.Individual Azurite Black?
The standard Business navigation 8,8" screen look good.@rs271 Rainer is this pic of the basic 5 interior with smaller screen and analogue instruments? I would be interested to see a pic of the standard instruments on the new 5 series.

So are you saying the configurator is wrong?
In those days Mercedes was really daring with their interior colours, they used to have some dark olive green interior and red as well. I think BMW were the same in the 1970's with their interior colour themes. We are all flower power kids!My grandfather had a white W123 with all-blue interior - it was super!
The info screen looks huge in this shot, it has a very thick black frame as well which looks very odd, I think they could have reduced the size to leave less unused space for the frame. It makes me think of the older TV's lol! Mercedes are just as guilty with the E-class in basic trim.
