3 Series (G20) [Official] BMW 3 Series (G20)

The BMW G20 is the seventh generation of the BMW 3 Series range. Body styles: G20 (sedan), G21 (wagon/touring), G28 BEV (i3), and G28 (long-wheelbase). Predecessor: F30 3 Series. Successor: G50 3 Series. Production: October 2018-2016.
I really prefer the luxury line steering wheel over the M-Sport ....the Luxury steering looking sportier to me.

100%. It looks more premium and I also prefer the previous M steering wheel design to the new one.

Lastly, the new M steering wheel has ridiculous girth and is too thick IMO and might change it on my forthcoming G01 if I could.

The previous M sport steering wheel looks much better than the new one....MB has BMW covered in steering wheels ATM.

The one below could be my future choice:
BMW 330d Luxury Line (G20)
BMW Individual Barbera Red (A39)
BMW Individual full leather trim 'Merino' Tartufo
BMW Individual fine-wood trim 'Fineline' Black with silver effect open-pored
Luxury Line looks several notch up on the premium side compared to previous gen. Please do share interior photos on the individual full leather trim once you get delivery. Would like get a closer look on leather and stitching pattern around door panels, console panels area. Not sure if G20 will get leather treatment all the way around the rear A/C section.

When I ordered mine, the Individual option was not available at the moment and estimated six month out on the build, something you might want to cross check with local dealer.

^ Very much agree with you, @martinbo . The Luxury Line with BMW Individual appointments (colour, leather, alloy wheels) is quite literally THE 3. I am really tired of the whole M Sport fashion excess - they are great cars, but they are much too publicized/advertised in most of the photos. Not to mention the high-gloss black gimmi...

Nicely specced.

The only aesthetic fault I find with the 3er's interior is the lack of any metal or wood trim.

EDIT: I didn't finish my above thought....let's try again......"The only aesthetic fault I find with the 3er's interior is the lack of any metal or wood trim on the interior door panel."

Long wheel base for china, nice and clear photo highlighting the spaceeeeee

The wheelbase and overall length have both been extended by 11cm, so now the wheelbase is 2960mm, which is only 15mm shorter than the standard wheelbase G30 5 series. I wonder if the rear legroom will be even greater than the 5 series.

But there are trim options available for the 3er, both wood and metal, to be found on the central tunnel and on the dashboard section in front of the passenger. Compared to the F30, the trims disappeared from the upper section of the doors - now you only get metal-like, thin chromed strips near the door handles.

I wish we could get a thorough comparison (dynamic, space, comfort, quality etc) between the Chinese 3er with the longer wheelbase and the European 5er with the normal wheelbase.

Dissapointingly BMW UK are not selling the G20 luxury line in the US. My previous car was a black F30 Luxury and it was the only trim I wanted. It was rare sight and the multispoke alloys made it look like a mini 7-Series.

The F30 in Luxury Line spec and with those wheels (code 416) is purely majestic.

Also compared to G20, the F30 had multiple and more attractive wheel designs.

^ RealOEM updated parts for both G20 (330i and M340i) trims. Additional wheels options are available on the luxury side. G20 uses 5x112 bolt pattern included smaller center cap 54mm instead of 68mm. One may wish BMW continues to use 5x120 bolt pattern from previous gen as some of the wheels looked great and can be carried over to the new gen.

Floating center cap might be an interesting option on luxury line. The emblem cap stayed stationary with BMW letters remained on the top while wheels are in motion, reminiscent of Rolls Royce.

I hear ya about the thin strips of metal trim, I was specifically talking about the wood/metal/CF trim that's on the dash that's missing on the door card. It's by no means a deal-breaker but it's most definitely a cost-cutting measure I wish BMW had not taken.

I finally had a go in the new 3er. Or should I say new b3nchmark?

Glorious looks, great quality, fantastic interior. Very impressive overall. Just not really particularly sporty. More comfy than sporty for my liking, but what can you do about it these days? It’s still sportier than all the others though, and maybe I needed more time to appreciate it more.

It was a 330i. Felt quite nimble, pretty quick and ultra smooth. I like the Shadow Line but the blacked out grille is not so nice with the blue color, imo.
Also, the brilliant M Performance rims are a 5000 Euro option, so they don’t fit them to their test cars. They were the only thing missing to make the car look perfect.

If you don't mind, rip that black grille and ship it to us. We're sure G20 owners from the US market will be bidding for it. :D

G20 Luggage Compartment Mat

Trunk mat installation after removing space-saver spare. Please note there are openings around battery area in trunk floor. Either place OEM trunk liner on trunk floor, or cover the top of battery area with a piece of sturdy board. Then place the trunk mat over it. Disclaimer: It's still recommended to install space-saver spare when equipped with non RFT option. Or add gel pack option similar to F8x.

With OPF you’ve got to be happy with any sound that comes out of the pipes and long as it’s a sound. We are soon approaching times when there won’t be any sound.

Look one basic version 320d in local show room .In the back seats a 1,85m height man, touch the car's roof.Bad feeling for back passengers height. Not happened in F30 series. Also in basic model there is standard analog gauges with a small screen in the bottom portion of the dash.
