I know you are being sarcastic but it is true. LED isn't anything different comparred to the features they showed. After all BMW is about LED as any other manufacturer, why they did not make them now on the 3 Series was to have some upgrades for facelift.

Oh my Lord....

:t-banghea :t-banghea :t-banghea

Or BMW becomes an exclusive brand only, but that means they will be bought out by VAG or Toyota or some other big company sooner or later.

Just wish it had more LEDs...

Wanna more LEDs? Here you go:

Enough? ;)

I thought that those were the worst BMW commercials I have ever seen. These commercials I expect from a car like Camry. Each video ends in declaring BMW makes the ultimate driving machine, but they feature something like Hands Free Trunk Opening, which is completely irrelevant to the driving experience. And look at the things they're promoting. Seats that move..? Keyless Go? Those things aren't exactly groundbreaking. The trunk episode is better suited for a SUV, not a sports sedan. I don't even want to start with the heated steering wheel one. Overall, too family-oriented, cheesy, and "practical" for my taste. It's like advertising a restaurant as one of the best in the world, but promoting the washroom. It just doesn't make any sense. Like you said: its right for VW, not for a BMW 3-series.
Haven't you seen Ford or Hyundai commercials? They brag about car being computer on wheels....everything is automated, hands free parallel parking...blah...blah. As martinbo said, this is what car buyers want to see. Can I update my facebook page while driving, can I listen to Pandora....etc. :eusa_doh:

What the f*** is a 3 series if not a car designed for the family. Too family-oriented and practical for you, then maybe a Z4 should be the ideal BMW for you, 2 seats and damn all boot space when the roof is down.... perfect.

You might not agree with these ads but their purpose is to get people out of their Toyotas, VWs, Ford as well as the usual rivals and those cars like the 3 series are bought primarily by families.

A family is car is the last thing I would call a 3-series. Sure, a lot of people use it as such, but I wouldn't ever name it like that. A BMW 3-series is, and always will be, a SPORTS SEDAN. Honestly, I just rewatched all the commercials and most of them are pure garbage. "The Entertainer" is about a kid running around the 3, and the side cameras capture him. That could have been a commercial straight out of the new Ford Escape or something. And then, right after that, they go to their Ultimate Driving Machine line. If that's not the greatest oxymoron in the history of car commercials, I don't know what is. "The Big Grab" is just the worst. Asides from showing the roominess of the 3er, its basically saying passengers will be damn cold without the heated steering wheel. This is practically counterproductive marketing...

I think we are having a culture difference here with what we each believe the role of the 3 series is. Here in the UK the 3 series is squarely aimed at the family market as well as being a rep mobile which is probably why I sells so well. Many people strive to own a 3 series over the like of a Ford or Vauxhall so these ads will appeal directly to them. Does the 3 sell more in the States than the 5, if it does then BMW are quite right gearing their advert to promote its family abilities, even in your country.

People - what's going on here? Are we losing our minds? The ads are shit - what does it matter? The 3er always has been many cars to many people - not just driving puritans. Sheesh.

Ads are shit if you look for the shitty ones. I mean, they do have the real stuff too, you know. It's like something for everyone nowadays:

Nothing wrong I tell ya :eusa_danc

Here in the UK the 3 series is squarely aimed at the family market

You actually believe that yourself?

Edit; sorry, vid already posted by Just_Me

^ I don't just believe it I know it as a fact. Just look at the sales figures for the last 3 in the UK.

I think footie has a valid point over here.

In a lot of markets, the average 3er buyer is male, in his mid-to-late 30s, with a young family and is employed in a middle-management type of job. The 3er is a car for the daily commute and driving his family around on weekends.

This averge buyer is relatively conservative and so he isn't going to drive this car around the race track. Given this, he's more likely to care about the practical attributes of the vehicle - like the surrround cameras, the e-mail to voice technology, the keyless entry etc. It's for this reason that BMW airs these advertisemets; not one where the car goes around a race track - that's reserved for car's like the M3 and M5.

The avarage buyer. With average being the keyword. I know it's nitpicking and all, but squarely aimed at families is just not the case. At best, the men who are buying the 3er have the family high on the list too. The 3er has to meet those family oriented aspects if it wants to be succesful thou, no doubt about it.

Your facts aren't the same as real facts ;) The 3er is not squarely aimed at families.
Like Martin said, the 3er is different for a lot of people. Some buy it for the family, some want a good lease car....and, believe it or not, some buy it because of decent useability and great driving dynamics. Can name a few more reasons, but the idea is clear.

QUESTION !?

Why do we not see OR then can anybody help with F30 Cutaway photo's?

On the other hand it seems as if OEM's are getting stingy with cutaways :t-hands:

(Audi/VAG I have to ad always have cutaway drawings. Daimler used to be the top OEM to show of it's cutaway's of new models)
