Okay here’s the problem, we in 2026. Tuning is the main idea now😂.

You think people buying these 40i BMWs are buying them because they are better than Mercs, Audi & Lexus? No it’s all based around tuning.

Having a highly tunable car is the new ‘Halo’ now. When someone sees that a 50k car has the ability to be tuned to a 1000hp they want to be in that to be deemed as ‘COOL’ even though they won’t necessarily tune it to 1000hp also.

Cause if it were a different case & it was all about looks & being built right the W214 E53 would be besting the G90 M5 in sales since E53 costs less & is far more beautiful But however that’s NOT the case.
I wanna smoke what you’re smoking.

Yeah.... He's seriously overestimating how much people give a shit about tuning. Yes the B58 is very tuneable, but its a closed deck engine with very smooth power delivery and strong torque.
Its just a good drivetrain. That's why people want it in their luxury sedans.

& So is the M177, Closed deck with cylinder deactivation for efficiency👀

This has nothing to do with my point.

People don't buy cars with a B58 because they're tuneable. They buy them because they're nice engines for luxury cars.

Similarly, people don't buy cars with an M177 because they're tuneable. They buy them because they're nice engines for luxury and performance cars.

Its really that simple. You're massively overestimating the value of appealing to tuners.

But i think things are gonna start kicking once the M256 lands in the C-class, Young enthusiasts are gonna love that car.

I really hope they don't mess these up. The GT and SL look great as is. A very slight tweak is all that's needed styling wise. Of course the I6 needs to and will replace the 4-cylinder and then the interior could stand it's own design changes that take it farther away from the CLE. The GT is arguably the best looking car Mercedes makes right now, and then the G.

Perhaps more a matter of a rapid evolution of tuning. More BEV focused with increasing emphasis placed on software including enhanced qualities of audiotactility, energy recuperation and e-motor thermal and RPM "improvement". More traditional "wrench, nuts and bolts" tuning will eventually confine it's domain to more "classic" ICE vehicles-and it will continue to find it's fans and customers, but there will be fewer as time passes. Establishing a business plan anchored primarily in the tuning of recently introduced, perhaps last-gen ICEs, may not be the most sustainable route. e-Restomods are another area that could see considerable growth. Classic, "old school" auto restoration will continue to find it's enthusiasts and customers.

Is it me or a GLC EQ vs IX3 Real-World review is taking a lot of time for cars that are already delivered to customers?🤔
