2 Series [Official] BMW 2 Series Gran Coupé (F44)

The BMW 2 Series is a range of subcompact executive cars (C-segment) manufactured by BMW since the year 2014. The 2 Series was created when BMW spun-off the 2-door models (coupé and convertible) of the BMW 1 Series into a separate series.
I have seen it for real some times now and I must say I agree as said above that it looks much better in real life. But something is still wrong IMO, it looks too high or something....

While I see a lot of the new CLA‘s here in South Spain, I just saw one 2er GC and it look awful, even in a strange baby blue paint that makes it look even worse.

I just saw my first 2GC on the street, dark gray metallic (almost black) and I agree that it looks much better than in the photos.

I do not know why so much fuss around the design since it looks really good in my opinion, well planted and very current, it clearly expresses the new style of the brand, I was glad to see it
I still haven't seen a new CLA to compare

I am beating a dead horse, but I wholeheartedly disagree. The 2er GC quite possibly is the worst looking BMW ever made, closely followed by the current 1er.

I think this is the first time I see it irl. Must say I found it looks good !

I have to say, I agree. I've started seeing quite a few more of them out and about, and it looks much better in the flesh.

.. so I've booked an eye test for 9 am tomorrow.

If you need to borrow a family to stick in the back of your car on your drive to Barnard Castle, you can borrow mine.

I just don't understand why the interior dimensions are so similar to the 2 Series coupe in the rear (and slightly worse in some aspects) despite it being on a fwd-platform and having rear doors.

Seems like BMW's single L-shape taillights are going down the drain, supplanted by a double L-shape signature reminiscent of the front DRLs. That had actually already been hinted at by Domagoj Dukec, according to whom standardizing the brand's key visual elements is necessary (double kidney grille, double headlights, double taillights...).

It does make sense in theory and it's already a trend (e.g. latest Hyundai Santa Fe), probably pushed by the need to differentiate oneself within the flurry of new (mostly Chinese) brands flooding the market. Hell, we've even come to see premium manufacturers use their actual brand logo in grille patterns and light signatures (E-Class). In BMW's case though I don't think such standardization is desperately needed, as their identity is strong enough as is; if anything, disrupting their current well-established rear signature may only bring more dislikes and confusion.
