Continental GT [Official] Bentley Continental GT (Third generation, 2018-

...and I can fold my slightly under "statistical average German frame" into the back seat of a 991 Carrera without too much of a hassle. And remain there for distances of up to say...45 minutes...without too much bitching.

Yep...the 911 has indeed become a bonafide GT.

Not to pump the cred of the 911 as a daily, few GTs have rear seats usable for adult - especially if the front seats passengers are tall. Where the 911 does lose is cargo carrying capabilities.

Getting back on topic I'm excited about the GT3 version of the continental GT. With wood inlay, massaging motors and NAIM sound system stripped out, the Bentley could give the Panamera a tough time.

Yes, the inevitable GT3 (hopefully sans a ghastly fixed rear wing), Speed and Supersports versions of the new Conti GT/GTC should have the automotive community buzzing.

And I have a hunch that the new Flying Spur derivative will make a substantial impact on the sub-"Rolling Cathedral" (aka R-R Phantom, Bentley Mulsanne. Maybach Pullman) luxury sedan segment. BEWARE S63/S65 AMG V222s' and BMW G12 M760i !

So I guess Bentley choose this guy to be the “lifestyle” face of the brand. He’s in every CGT photo I see

The car no looks good to me in a full on frontal shot. The front end is too big. I gotta see it in person.

Isn't the 2 door version of the Panamera Coupé... the 911?

Certainly a valid argument. And with the new Bentley Continental GT, a Panamera II 2 door coupe could be considered superfluous.

As much as I'd like to see a 928 revival, I would think that a Mission E-based "929" 2 door 2+2 EV GT would be a far more viable proposition. It would coexist far more comfortably with the 911 Carreras as well methinks.

Totally. Spec a 911 right and it's a comfortable daily driver whilst retaining it's peerless handling characteristics. I don't see anything exciting in two door Panamera unless weight is significantly reduced.

The 911 has a totally different powertrain layout, and I suspect will handle completely differently to a two-door Panamera.

So no, I don't think a 911 is a "two-door Panamera Coupe".

Flying Spur mk.I is far from the most elegant British saloon ever made. The boot and the shape of the D-Pillar made it resemble a funeral car. For the 2nd itteration Bentley made a bigger effort in sculpturing the rear to better match the dynamic appearance of the front of the car.

I wish the Flying Spur would become a four door coupe. Understandably it would alienate royalty and other esteemed customers who want maximum headroom and light while sitting in the rear.

If I had a magic wand, I would make Porsche produce an 812 Superfast competitor.

A 4 door "sedoupe" based on the new Continental GT (or new Flying Spur) would be BRILLIANT .

The Mulsanne can cater to those headroom-obsessed luminaries.

The GT is gorgeous in person; I was impressed more than I though I'd be.

Nothing under a million is touching the GT's build quality. Not even the Phantom 8 I sat in right after.

Sign me up for a V8 or if the new Spur turns out to be a looker.

A few years ago 315/30/22 rims would've meant break-neck ride quality.

Man i want one so bad. Price is great to. But I would like to see the v8 and hopefully a hybrid.. something that offers a better economical case.. you can have the old GTs for around 30-40k euro now. That’s to much of a drop imo.

If I’m paying 150K for this I wish to have atleast 100k back after 3 years.

Wow. Do you mind elaborating on more details, please? This could be Bruce Wayne's next company car.

You can get it in 1:43 scale. So it would be able to fit in your Batcave aka your parents basement.:)

Pricey for a 1:43 model though, over 200€.

No way..The new Phantom's interior is head and neck above this,Heck i don't think it has a better interior than a loaded FL S65 coupe.

Ive spent a considerable amount of time sitting in all three, and I have a FL S63 with designo Exclusive coming soon... the R&D processes for material sourcing is well advanced of the other two.

The useage of glass and metals is next level, nothing that is visible is shared with any other VAG brand. The statisfaction you feel when you press the center console buttons leaves a big impression.

- 0.3mm gap between the rotating screen and the veneer panels.
- 2 miles of interior stitching & 310.000 stitches. No other car comes close.
- Every knob is diamond-knurled metal.

What annoys me about the $500k+ Phantom is how BMW shared parts and plastics are in plain sight. Zero attempts to make it “bespokely” RR. I’m still waiting for the day a RR has a leather steering wheel column. Or a non-7 series sourced steering wheel column for that matter.

I love the S Coupé’s interior, but there are some quality aspects that are a tad suspect. Lots of parts are shared across the MB range at this point. A S65 interior is no different from a S560 with full Designo.

Glass or metal; no plastic:

@sako97 Hard to argue with that honestly haha,i've said it before i like and would take the new CGT over RR Wraith but at least from pics the new Phantom's interior is something else.Btw why didn't you opt for the new CGT instead of the S63?

That is the way it should be, no imitation stuff like gloss black plastic or silver coated plastic switches. I haven't been inside the new continental but even the interior of the previous continental is a step above the S coupe.

Guessing you're referring to the previous Phantom, as the new Phantom's interior is head and shoulders above the previous model.....In any case, in the GT class, nothing even comes even close to the interior quality of the Conti GT

No, I sat in the 2018 Phantom VIII Launch Edition right after.
