A5/S5/RS5 [Official] Audi RS5

DOMINUS,

Since you are looking for a colour to stand out for the crowd why not consider an Audi exclusive colour like Nordic Gold, it really shows off the additional detailing that the RS5 has over the normal A5, like it's arches.

Here's a picture of an RS6 in this colour.

Footie that's a little too much for me. It's good for a show car but this will be my only car. I'm leaning heavily towards the gray at this point.

And I imagined you smiling at me with a big gold tooth. :D

Lol and my hot chick from an Import magazine. Big pimping

Now that was funny!

Agree the daytona grey looks awesome, white too IMHO. Definitely with the black trim package or whatever they are calling it though.

The white with the black optic package I think is what they're calling it will look insane. Everyone may jump on that though so I'm
looking for an alternative and gray seems to be just fine.

One alternative to both Daytona Grey and Phantom/Panther black would be Oolong Grey, a new shade of grey that debuted in the D4 A8.

Lovely colour, imo.

Too dark in my opinion, most of the unique features of the RS5 would be lost.

Ok so after looking at all the pics that I'm interested in thanks to Iamnotme, I've narrowed down my choices to white again with red interior and the black optics option or the Daytona Gray with either the red interior or the beige looking color in the pics above. That would be harder to keep clean though.

Both would be stunning, but I still prefer the white. I know you mentioned the white might be a more popular choice for the RS5, but how often would you really see another one? I also prefer the black interior over the red but I am an old conservative dude!

Still on my list of possible's (17 months left on my 535i lease), only two door on the list in fact. The F10 also looks great and I could get a manual here in the states to kick the fun-factor up a notch. Wild card is the Panamera which I also love, a lot more $ however.

Rurella we may not see them often on the road at all but in the event that you do chances are it may be white. White seems to be the "it" color right now but I think it is fading out. All colors seem to have their "it" time. I may just get it in Daytona Gray but I have to see one in white with the black optic option just to make sure. The Panamera has grown on me because initially I didn't like it. Seeing it in the flesh (or metal) changed my mind about it.

Audi RS5 Performance Car Of The Year 2010 video review

The muscular bodied Audi RS5 makes it UK debut in our annual performance car test. Under the bonnet lies the powerful 4.2-litre V8 from the RS4 and R8 models now producing 444bhp and 430Nm of torque. Trick centre and rear differentials are mated to the famous quattro four-wheel-drive system along with a rapid-fire seven speed twin-clutch gearbox.
The Audi RS5 set a laptime of 63.8 seconds around the Anglesey track, almost identical to the lap set by the BMW M3 Comp Pack and good enough for 6th fastest of the group.
To read the full Audi RS5 review check out this week's special Performance Car Of The Year edition of Auto Express magazine available in all good newsagents from Thursday.

Closest track time to the M3 I've seen so far. It's always good see Audi win another award, yet it never surprises me.:eusa_clap

I must say that after the recent comparison tests against the M3 Comp pack in European magazines this track time at Anglesey really surprised me because it's a quite technical and demanding track which I honestly would have thought it would have suited the M3 better, especially with it's improved handling provided by the comp pack. No doubt he would have been having more fun doing the lap in the M3 but that said I think when to consider the sheer weight difference between the two cars that Audi have pulled off a minor miracle.

P.S.
Just remember that same driver, same day. Also another thing that should be noted, the E63 didn't get close to either the Audi or BMW on this occasion but in the hands of Autosport it lapped Hockenheim in 1:14.0, quicker than both of them, considerably in fact against the RS5.

It's so weird how different the results can be.

I think what it tells you is that none of these cars is an outright winner over the others, and that they'll all outperform each other at different times when tested across a range of conditions.

I would definitely have to agree with that opinion, though I think this only holds true for the track because off it on public roads the RS5 will be quicker the majority of the time due to it's superior traction and easier approach to it's limits.

Anyhow having owned the M3 I can fully see the appeal of the car, it's a real firecracker at peak revs where is truly comes alive, in comparison the RS5 doesn't quite excite in the same manner.

Yes, the M3 is very lively. But get behind the wheel of an RS5, switch to Dynamic, sit in 3rd for a couple of seconds at around 5000 rpm, then give it the boot... you'll be in for a nice surprise, I can assure you. If you really want to give yourself a fright, turn the ESP off too!

It's all relative to what you are use to, but turning off the ESP in the Audi is far less exciting and frightening (depending on the weather) than what the M3 was, which in turn is less exciting/frightening than a C63.

Lets say that when you get to this caliber of car the performance is mighty impressive. :t-cheers:

I want nothing more than to own this car, looks like it's going to be a couple years before that happens. Your a lucky guy, and for that I envy you:usa7uh:

Audi

Audi AG is a German automotive manufacturer of luxury vehicles headquartered in Ingolstadt, Bavaria, Germany. A subsidiary of the Volkswagen Group, the company’s origins date back to the early 20th century and the initial enterprises (Horch and the Audiwerke) founded by engineer August Horch (1868–1951). Two other manufacturers (DKW and Wanderer) also contributed to the foundation of Auto Union in 1932. The modern Audi era began in the 1960s, when Volkswagen acquired Auto Union from Daimler-Benz, and merged it with NSU Motorenwerke in 1969.
