A5/S5/RS5 [Official] Audi RS5

Just playing with you mate.

BTW the Scirocco R is a cracking FWD car and you could definitely do a lot worse an consider one to replace your current one.

rocco r is lovely.

Plus they mod to 360hp like my cupra. Add that with a DSG tranny and you can do 12.6 secs down the 1/4 mile drag strip, something this rs5 could only dream of :eusa_danc

Report: Audi RS5 to arrive Stateside by Sept 2011, again

With European deliveries set to begin in just a couple of months, reports indicate that the Audi RS5 will, in the end, make it to the North American market, 444-horsepower V8 and all. But it could take a little while.

The first RS5s will begin arriving in customers' hands in Germany this coming June with a sticker price pegged at €65,300, representing a 32.4 percent price hike over the existing S5 coupe. Inside Line calculates that translates to about $88k by straight conversion, but applied to the U.S. market price for the S5, the 32.4% increase comes out closer to $69,500. Audi, however, doesn't anticipate selling many of the super-coupes Stateside, and is therefore planning on bringing every RS5 over fully equipped, with the sport differential, Dynamic Ride Control system and Boysen sport exhaust.

So equipped, sources peg the American price for a loaded RS5 at around $75,000. But Audi reportedly warns not to start counting the days just yet, as first North American deliveries likely won't begin before August or September 2011.

I want one, but damn the end of 2011 is a long time for those who can do it. Audi and VW still have timing issues with the U.S. market. Still in Twenty-Ten. Unacceptable.

Grey is probably the colour I would recommend with this car, it looks good regardless of whether you stick with the normal car or pick either of the style packages. The other nice thing about the grey is that on opening the door it goes surprisingly well with the silver leather seats.

The RS5 also looks good in black, in my opinion.

Here are some pics of the RS5 in Panther Black...

Im baffled by Audi's decision to rice the car up with those blingy alu front lip. Sure it's optional, but there is no need to put it on all the press cars. It looks Boy-racer-ish on the TT-RS but even more immature on the grown up RS5. It is as painful to see as a man mature chap wearing baseball cap backwards.

Iamnotme do you have anymore in white and blue? I promise I'll leave you alone after this.

Do the 20s come in any other color than gunmetal? Does anyone know?

I don't think this was posted either. If it was I'm sorry for the repost.

20" only come in titanium look and the traditional silver look. Though I am sure you could get one of the any number of alloy repair outfits to paint them to your liking.

Ok thanks Footie. The 2 colors offered are fine. I love contrast in cars. The white with the gunmetal wheels and red interior is kind of how I do things. Problem is I've done that already with the M. I'm
really loving the gray but I wasn't sure if I could get the 20" in the silver color. The gray matches the wheels a little to closely for my liking but until I see it in person I won't know for sure.

Well, let's see...

If I owned a business you'd have the corner office lol. Thanks a lot man. Talk about efficiency. Can someone give this guy a raise?

Ok thanks to me we got a little off topic with the color options, sorry guys, so I want to come back on topic. I've noticed in some of the videos that when turning, the rear brake lights seem to turn off in the direction that the car is turning. Or it may be the opposite direction. Either way I've noticed this. Is this some sort of safety feature that is activated with hard cornering? I know that for the headlights in some cars they turn in the direction of the turn to provide more light in the turn but I can't wrap my head around the concept for the rear lights.

That is not a (safety) feature at all. It's just a weird effect that happens when filming LED's. I think that it is also related to the camera angle and such.

This was particulary noticeable in the Autocar videotest of the RS5.In fact, all of the LED's are always on, but because of the movement, it would give us the illusion that they're flashing.

Another example is a video of Chris Harris comparing the Bentley Continental GT with the Ferrari 599 GTB and the an Aston Martin. There's a scene where Chris drifts the 599 GTB and its rear lights are constantly flashing during the drift, to the point that they looked like a police car's lightbar.

DOMINUS,

Since you are looking for a colour to stand out for the crowd why not consider an Audi exclusive colour like Nordic Gold, it really shows off the additional detailing that the RS5 has over the normal A5, like it's arches.

Here's a picture of an RS6 in this colour.

Audi

Audi AG is a German automotive manufacturer of luxury vehicles headquartered in Ingolstadt, Bavaria, Germany. A subsidiary of the Volkswagen Group, the company’s origins date back to the early 20th century and the initial enterprises (Horch and the Audiwerke) founded by engineer August Horch (1868–1951). Two other manufacturers (DKW and Wanderer) also contributed to the foundation of Auto Union in 1932. The modern Audi era began in the 1960s, when Volkswagen acquired Auto Union from Daimler-Benz, and merged it with NSU Motorenwerke in 1969.
