A3/S3/RS3 Official: Audi RS3

The Audi A3 is a small family car (C-segment) manufactured and marketed by Audi AG since September 1996. The first two generations of the Audi A3 were based on the Volkswagen Group A platform, while the third and fourth generations use the Volkswagen Group MQB platform.
The front arches are wider, the back are the same as a S3, could explain why they went with 225s at the back?

I would have thought the wider arches are as a consequence of the wider tyres at the front, not the other way round. :D

For those who prefer the modern technology of paddle shifts, this will place the RS3 at a significant advantage over the 1M Coupe.

It's rear is way to boring. And why didnt they give it wider wheel arches in the back??

Here's why:

It doesn't need it!

Guys.. I have to say that this is the first RS-model from Audi that I don't go "wow" over.... :(

I agree that the looks aren't as exciting as you thought they could be, but wait until you actually see it in real life, that front end is super aggressive. Personally I hate them using red as the colour to promote RS models, the same thing was done with the RS5 and when seen in any other colour it's far more dramatic and purposeful.

It's rear is way to boring. And why didnt they give it wider wheel arches in the back??

You will hear a few reasons for this, like they didn't want to spend the money on manufacturing different rear quarter panels to allow for the extra 10mm of rubber :t-crazy2:, the reality is that it's all to the benefit of handling, that's why they increased to front track to a greater extent than the rear and why it's rubber is the wider.

BOOORING! Looks just like the other RS:s, gosh don't they got any imagination there in Audi? :eusa_doh: But ofc if I would GET one... :D

That same M5 went on to beat a GTR ;)

My interest in this car is 100% flaccid, it fails to jolt me with the same tension as the TT-RS. something positive that I can take away from this release is possible price indication and performance indication of the BMW 1M.

Nah, Im not feeling it. Then again, I never been a fan of A3. Its the Audi I like the least.

What I don't understand is why they used the ugly semi-stationwagon version, and not the sleeker 3-door A3.. :t-hands:

Audi

Audi AG is a German automotive manufacturer of luxury vehicles headquartered in Ingolstadt, Bavaria, Germany. A subsidiary of the Volkswagen Group, the company’s origins date back to the early 20th century and the initial enterprises (Horch and the Audiwerke) founded by engineer August Horch (1868–1951). Two other manufacturers (DKW and Wanderer) also contributed to the foundation of Auto Union in 1932. The modern Audi era began in the 1960s, when Volkswagen acquired Auto Union from Daimler-Benz, and merged it with NSU Motorenwerke in 1969.
