A3/S3/RS3 Official: Audi RS3

The Audi A3 is a small family car (C-segment) manufactured and marketed by Audi AG since September 1996. The first two generations of the Audi A3 were based on the Volkswagen Group A platform, while the third and fourth generations use the Volkswagen Group MQB platform.
:t-roses:
What I don't understand is why they used the ugly semi-stationwagon version, and not the sleeker 3-door A3.. :t-hands:

Current think inside of Audi is that all future RS models which aren't coupe form will be Avants. That is why the soon to be released RS4 will also only come in Avant form.

I doubt that. It's gonna come in that 3-door version soon. Just like the RS6 Avant came out before the sedan.

I think its because the Sportback is selling much better then the 3-door version.

Btw.... this is just sick:

I get what it is doing in the thread. The same can be done to the RS3. A little more weight will only slow it down a bit in the start.

Bingo and this is far from where the 2.5TFSI can end up. 500hp or even 550hp is on the cards without truly stressing the internals too much.

I love it, except for the silver bits which look cheap. Is black trim an option? And the important question is will it cross the Atlantic?

Nice!

I know a guy here that has got 450hp from his S3. So, the options seem to be endless for this great engine.

Fantastic, at least it got the engine it deserved!

As for people wondering why it does not had the oval exhaust on each side. Its due to the spare wheels well coming down to low and Im guessing Audi didn't fancy chopping the well out and spending more money on another side for a back box.. (Correct me if I'm wrong)

Really not excited about this car at all, I never liked the A3 and this won't change, I will take the TT-RS thanks.

I think the wider front tyres could be a typo?

235s should fit easy all way round.
Nope, the large photos of the front tyre clearly says 235.

You will have to wait and see but it does improve it's resistance to understeer,
Don't think anyone is doubting that.

I didn't mean to turn this thread into a RS3 vs 1M, only to highlight what many were already thinking as these two cars (like it or not) will be constantly be compared when both make it to the street.
If many where already thinking about these 2 cars then there is absolutely no need for you to highlight it. this matter will be brought up in the internal combustion section in the future when both cars are released.

Have to agree here, the TT-RS is probably Audi's finest looking car after the R8 and the RS3 is only a hatch, admittedly a beefy looking hatch but a hatch none the less.

Don't think anyone is doubting that.

Actually Martin disagree with this opinion.

I can show you countless occasions when people mention competitor's cars in threads like this, so there is no need to jump on my back without addressing them too. I personally don't have a problem discussing such things here but if you feel it would cause conflict then may be it's best kept to else where. :t-cheers:

Oh my oath! This thing looks fantastic. Is it a legit factory option? Does it only come in that colour (red)? If not, does Audi colour code the rim edging to be the same as the paintwork on the body? If so, somebody show me a white one please. Now! :D

Audi RS3 just went from Not to Hot in that picture.

The rims only come in this colour option of black with red trim, so only body colour options which compliment those rims will work.

P.S.
Any decent alloy rim refurbisher will be able to finish the outer trim colour to your requirements so I don't see this as a stumbling block.

I hear 'first drive' press reviews will be appearing soon. :t-drive:

Audi

Audi AG is a German automotive manufacturer of luxury vehicles headquartered in Ingolstadt, Bavaria, Germany. A subsidiary of the Volkswagen Group, the company’s origins date back to the early 20th century and the initial enterprises (Horch and the Audiwerke) founded by engineer August Horch (1868–1951). Two other manufacturers (DKW and Wanderer) also contributed to the foundation of Auto Union in 1932. The modern Audi era began in the 1960s, when Volkswagen acquired Auto Union from Daimler-Benz, and merged it with NSU Motorenwerke in 1969.
