A3/S3/RS3 [Official] 2015 Audi RS3 Sportback

The Audi A3 is a small family car (C-segment) manufactured and marketed by Audi AG since September 1996. The first two generations of the Audi A3 were based on the Volkswagen Group A platform, while the third and fourth generations use the Volkswagen Group MQB platform.
Some fwd has lift off oversteer. But the RS3 kan do 4 wheel drifts on throttle which a fwd can not do

Yes! I made that clear. The exception being the lightweight FWD Honda Integra in its stock form (1.8L, 190 hp, 9000 rpm).

Also, if you brake midcorner with a good FWD drive car you get the back end out!(y)

I know it's old but it is probably the best street FWD car ever made:

Audi displays one-off RS3 Sportback with carbon fiber wheels

Also has LED quattro lettering
Audi has prepared a unique RS3 Sportback with several special features, including carbon fiber wheels.

About a month ago we heard Volkswagen saying they formed a partnership with ThyssenKrupp Carbon Components and Maxion Wheels to work on carbon fiber wheels which are up to 40% lighter than a forged aluminum set. Now, Audi Forum Ingolstadt has released several pictures with a special RS3 that comes with large carbon fiber wheels, but we don't know if these have anything to do with the recently formed alliance.

Besides getting new wheels, this bespoke RS3 also comes with carbon fiber front and rear splitter along with LED illuminated "quattro" lettering on the lower front grille. You will also notice the layout of the engine has been airbrushed onto the hood and there's also a carbon fiber surround for the front grille and on the door mirror caps.

Stepping inside the cabin, there is more carbon fiber on the steering wheel, cup holder, seat shells and even on the ashtray. AFI says all of the car's mechanical parts manufactured from plastic have received either the same paint as the body or a lacquered glossy black look.

It will take a while until the RS3 will receive optional carbon fiber wheels as most likely these will make their debut on the Bugatti Veyron replacement and then trickle down to lesser models part of the VAG empire. The most obvious Audi candidate to receive these wheels is the second generation R8.

I just got home some testing.

Left foot brake does not work on Haldex in a drift.

You can try left foot brake with every fuse in place. Just keep you're left foot just slightly on the brake go off throttle and on throttle. Then you get no engine cut.

if you brake in a 4wd slide and keep throttle you brake the front wheels more because 70% of braking is done on the front axle when you do this in Rally car Group N 4wd or any other rally car. The car will rotate more and reduces understeer. You brake the fronts and you make it more a RWD car for a short moment.

But this does not work on our RS3 Haldex system.

I tried braking with left when i was in a 4wd slide. What happens. The Haldex sees less wheel spin front and brings more power to the front you wil end understeer because you have a FWD at that moment.

The haldex works only if the front wheels have lots of wheelspin and steer deep into the corner then in a blink of an eye it sends more power the rear. Then you slide nicely over 4 wheels. When you countersteer it s sends more power to the front. Best is to steer into the corner or keep the steering straight and keep power on.

But you need very slippery surfaces otherwise the above won t work with 367 hp. I have put on some cheap chinese tyres that have no grip at all. It gives massive fun on wet tarmac then.

The car is certainly not boring at all. I quite like it.

I have done all my testing. Now i need snow:)

I just have to keep ABS on and no leftfoot brake:) I get lots of comfort in return. I have had Evo s and Sti better for 4wheel drive slide but no comfort for daily so no option for that anymore.

Short clip how the 4wd react. I was on vacation in Denmark so my kids were also in the car and were screaming daddy drift. So it s not a movie with wild drifts:)

Advevo,

You would be already loosing at the traffic lights... and I guess that not even your expertise would be enough to catch up on the corners, not with the RS3:p :D:

Wow! That 308R Hybrid is blistering, it left the RS3 way behind!

And what would happen if the RS3 has 500 hp and 730 Nm as well? :P :D

Wrong question I'm afraid! The question should be:

And what would happen if the 308 Hybrid has a price tag of 52,700 Euro (Germany) or 57900 Euro (France), as well?

;)

It's the time that some car producers will start to panic with Peugeot Sport and Renault Sport. Frenchs can be one surprise...
I have seen a Fifth Gear track video where the Renault Megane 275 Trophey R was actually marginally quicker around a track than the Audi S3.

Audi would sell a lot more cars than the french car?

I really don't think so... :D

The 308 Hybrid would be even faster... by SOME margin! And, MUCH more fuel efficent, go figure!

I cannot give a lot of info about the plans from Renault and Peugeot, but I can tell you they have the intentions to fight against Audi S3 and RS3, specially Peugeot Sport. By this reason, I've told that frenchs can be one surprise.

The photos above. I was sat here thinking "I know that place". Then I realised it's my home city, Leeds, in the North of England. I suspect the photographer was mugged shortly after these pictures were taken.

There's no way in hell I would pay so much money for a Renault or Peugeot. And this comes from a guy who does own a Renault.

Audi

Audi AG is a German automotive manufacturer of luxury vehicles headquartered in Ingolstadt, Bavaria, Germany. A subsidiary of the Volkswagen Group, the company’s origins date back to the early 20th century and the initial enterprises (Horch and the Audiwerke) founded by engineer August Horch (1868–1951). Two other manufacturers (DKW and Wanderer) also contributed to the foundation of Auto Union in 1932. The modern Audi era began in the 1960s, when Volkswagen acquired Auto Union from Daimler-Benz, and merged it with NSU Motorenwerke in 1969.
