Q5 Official Audi Q5 Thread

Well, the back, side profile and interior look really nice. The front could look less boring. I'll have to agree with Centurion about the headlights of the Cross Coupe Quattro concept below. The Q5 would look much more interesting.:t-cheers:

These head lights would have suited the car so much better, and given it a more sinister impression.

Meet the segment stylemeister

The BMW X3's a bit Bangle-quirky, and the forthcoming Mercedes-Benz GLK looks like a blocky mini-truck. So clean, simple, and sporty is the logical route for Audi's entry in the compact premium SUV segment, the all-new Q5. The new Q5 combines Audi's trademark single frame grille with clean surfaces. Subtle fender flares hint at the A5 from some angles, and the roofline is one of the lowest in the segment.

Re: Official: Audi Q5

I think this looks better than both the X3 and the new GLK. The design is a bit soft overall but I think it suits this class/size pretty well.

Gotta love the 2.0TFSI with 350Nm... That 4 pot is an evergreen. There won't be any multitronic with the Q5 would there?

it looks really handsome in those real life shots. hard to find fault with its design but nothing really shines either.

Very safe design by Audi. I neither love nor loathe the design of the car. That Audi interior design is starting to get boring to me... It's nice and all but they all seem pretty much the same. Audi are playing it very safe at the moment apart from the R8. Seems to be working, I'm liking there products...

The car looks nice ... typical Audi-generic design - inside & outside.
Simple, elegant, sporty, of great quality impression but lacking individuality within the Audi model line.
I guess Audi lovers will like it very much.

Very compact & sporty stance. Looks smaller than it really is. Much better than over-sized Q7.
Perhaps 19" / 20" (?) rims in the press photos help to create such illusion ... I wander how the car will look with the standard 17" / 18" rims.

Btw, Although the DRL & tail-light LEDs looks tacky they spice up the whole a bit lazy & sleepy design.

Audi are still following the Apple design principle ...

haha it's not very often i agree with you

After seeing more pics i have to say that this car's main buyers will be females, the rounded smooth clean design will be so popular among young moms much the opposite of the GLK.
I'm not sure which demographic is Audi targeting with the Q5 but MB seems to be targeting especially women as they chose to promote it with Sex and the City Movie with a woman driving it.

True but aside from MB's ideas the GLK definitely looks more masculine than the Q5,the edgy boxy and rugged appearance will appeal alot to young guys looking for a brand new and fresh look.

I've always found fault with that logic. Men are perceived as more rugged than women (generally rightly so:)) and heterosexual females tend to like men (most of the time). By extension, they could go nuts over the "rugged", look at how tough I am, look of the GLK. Even in Croatia where there are what, maybe 2 Hummers registered, one of the owners is female.:D

As i said before there's truth in what u r saying but in general(at least where i live)most hummer drivers and rugged SUVs like the GL and G-class are driven by males,i think MB nailed it with the GLK that car will attract both genders equally:usa7uh:

Yes, it's plain, but it still looks good.

Can't wait to see the numbers for the EX, GLK, X3 and Q5 next year.........

Audi needs a new dash lay out. As impressive as it is, there so much rehash of the same stuff one can take.

Audi

Audi AG is a German automotive manufacturer of luxury vehicles headquartered in Ingolstadt, Bavaria, Germany. A subsidiary of the Volkswagen Group, the company’s origins date back to the early 20th century and the initial enterprises (Horch and the Audiwerke) founded by engineer August Horch (1868–1951). Two other manufacturers (DKW and Wanderer) also contributed to the foundation of Auto Union in 1932. The modern Audi era began in the 1960s, when Volkswagen acquired Auto Union from Daimler-Benz, and merged it with NSU Motorenwerke in 1969.
