That's it! Like the 1er. I couldn't quite put my finger on it, but it's just as awkward as the 1er. Moreso than the new A6 imo.

This will take time getting used to. The current S5 is as near to Perfection as a german car could get. No fuss, just clean lines that make a powerful impression. A black A5 cannot pass me with out me staring st it until it's out of sight. It's such a gorgeous car, especially the S5. The facelift is in line with audi's major revamp of their head light graphics. There is nothing ugly about the face lift, just that it doesn't correct anything that was wrong with the perfect pre fwcedlifted version. Now it resembles the A6 more.

Front on it looks almost identical to the A7, it's only the line along the side that gives the game away. Better looking now than before.

Current generation for me please, any day... By miles! Enough said.

i have mixed feeling toward this facelift, now all audi looks alike. i hope a4 won't follow the same direction

it's interesting why this not posted in the homepage, took me a few days to discover that one of the most significant audi model had just gotten a facelift. is it because an audi facelift is not as important as bimmer and merc????

I just saw Q3 and R8 in the homepage/frontpage. I just think A5 been forgotten. I dont know how to put something on the homepage. If I did I would fix it.

It's not that the car is not any less imporatant than it's competition it's that the editors are slow to put some things up these days. Could be a lack of them I guess. Audi's have always look alike,it's nothing new. That argument has been raging on for time now,but all german car companies are guilty of doing it,and rightfully so,a corporate image should exist so that people are able to identify with the product.

At this point the frontpage is managed from the Editors and all three of us have been extremely busy this week. Now that the weekend is here, I plan to upload the whole A5/S5 facelift press kit and try to write the GCF editorial about the new B-Class.

:t-cheers:

Glad the supercharged V6 and double clutch tranny finally made it in the S5, while the V8 was sweet, drove one with 6 speed man recently, the manual transmission was a total disappointment. I also drove the S4 with DSG that same day and was a bit surprised that it felt quite faster (most likely bc it was easier to drive of the lot)
The new look doesn't offend, the profile remains beautiful, the lights look of place a bit, but will eventually get used to them, and the interior is also an improvement over a very nice cabin to begin with. Overall S5 is going in the right direction.

At YoUhimHer, I think the A/S4 will get the same facelift treatment as the A/S5...

You're right it will get the same exact treatment. I've driven both the S4,and S5,and in my experience the S4 was considerably quicker, and overall it drove better as well.

Wow, the Convertible looks bland as Pancakes, not a good look at all IMO.

Audi needs to understand that by tacking on these extremely fussy, angular, and weird/"futuristic" front ends, they are very much dating the look of their cars, as the front ends look about 20 years newer than the otherwise very reserved, or bland, or clean, or whatever you want to call it, designs.

I feel like the A5 is looking very dated right now, especially after seeing the F.L.

On the flip-side, the Sportback 4-Door is a really good looking car, which I noticed when I was in Europe. Very hard to tell it apart from the A7, but I'm surprised that Audi doesn't offer the 4-Door A5 in the State, IMO it could be a great seller for them.

I for one much prefer the more angular styling details of the new Audi DRG design language to the older version where the trapezoidal lights and ovoid sheild grill were starting to look old-fashioned.
I have no doubt that this alignment of the A5 with the new design theme will enhance the model range's appeal. The A7 has set a high standard (thankfully, considering the disaster that is the A8) and the A5 facelift does well to align this model range with Audi's flagship 'tweener. Looking forward to the RS5 update.

^^^ They better keep the RS5 like the pre facelift, like BMW did with the M3.

Audi

Audi AG is a German automotive manufacturer of luxury vehicles headquartered in Ingolstadt, Bavaria, Germany. A subsidiary of the Volkswagen Group, the company’s origins date back to the early 20th century and the initial enterprises (Horch and the Audiwerke) founded by engineer August Horch (1868–1951). Two other manufacturers (DKW and Wanderer) also contributed to the foundation of Auto Union in 1932. The modern Audi era began in the 1960s, when Volkswagen acquired Auto Union from Daimler-Benz, and merged it with NSU Motorenwerke in 1969.
