The new Audi A4 is phenomenal! I don't know why so many of you seem so disappointed! You should try it for yourself first.

Thanks for sharing. There's an Audi dealership near my work. I might pop in and have a drive to find out what the car has got going for it.

The pics show a shimmering like build quality.

I was at my local Audi dealer to take a close look at the new Audi A4 today. The interior fit and quality is exceptionally.

No matter where you press on the dash squeaks and flexing is minimal. Some plastics you would expect to flex don't do it all. This is above and beyond its rivals. Colour me impressed and willing to give the car a test drive in the coming months.

The quality was so good that I mistook the car for the A6, but realized it was the A4 when I stepped out and walked towards an A6 Allroad.

And have your impressions regarding the styling changed at all @Centurion?

The impressive interior quality is redeeming. However many people buy cars with their hearts and the exterior does not seduce me. It's simply too familiar which is a shame given the effort Audi put into completely redesigning the interior.

Magazines must have a lot of problems to do renders from Allroad models. All people know that next A4 Allroad will be the Avant with some plastics over the body. Very difficult...

Audi Looks Up With All-New A4 Allroad Quattro At Detroit

While North America is once again left without an A4 Avant, Audi is sort-of making up for it with the more rugged A4 Allroad Quattro that just made its world premiere in Detroit today.
from there adorning the A4 Avant with a hint of crossover pizzazz through body cladding, bespoke 17-inch standard or 19-inch optional wheels, a chrome-rich front grille with vertical slats, model-specific air intakes, skid plates and higher silver roof rails. The only differences inside are the model-specific trim accents on the dashboard.

In the US, the A4 Allroad Quattro will be available exclusively with a 2.0-liter turbocharged gasoline four rated at 252PS (249hp) and 273 lb-ft of peak torque.

European buyers will get more choices, as aside from the TFSI, it will be offered with five TDI diesel engines producing between 150PS (148hp) and 272PS (268hp), mated to a manual six‑speed gearbox, the new seven-speed S tronic dual-clutch transmission or the redesigned eight-speed tiptronic automatic.

Sales of the new member of the A4 family will kick off this summer.

^ That's a car that deserves to sell so much better than it will (due to burgeoning SUV segment) despite the fact that it's logically the better car.

And, the sharpness of B9 continues to amaze me. The panel alignment so vital to making that "deep-crease" swage line work so seamlessly (ahem! paradox alert) across the length of the car is simply impressive.

It's not that impressive, considering other lowly VAG cars have been doing it already.
Quite frankly, the idea is nice but in real life it remains an ugly shutline meeting a character line.

I much prefer the way the 7er and E class mix hood shutline, door, and A pillar. That's the only way to go imo. The A4 has become a huge clamshell.

Why that AB guy is touch that Allroad so much?

Because touch is important. It's not all just pretty pics for the internet ;)

Are you specifically referring to this idea in the context of the Audi A1? Or perhaps the TT mk3? Or is there another model which you have in mind?

Audi

Audi AG is a German automotive manufacturer of luxury vehicles headquartered in Ingolstadt, Bavaria, Germany. A subsidiary of the Volkswagen Group, the company’s origins date back to the early 20th century and the initial enterprises (Horch and the Audiwerke) founded by engineer August Horch (1868–1951). Two other manufacturers (DKW and Wanderer) also contributed to the foundation of Auto Union in 1932. The modern Audi era began in the 1960s, when Volkswagen acquired Auto Union from Daimler-Benz, and merged it with NSU Motorenwerke in 1969.
