So Frankfurt is in September.... By January of 2008 it should be in dealers? US that is.

I have confirmed that it will hit the European dealers in November. If i hear any news i will keepyou posted. If all things go as planned for me i will place my deposit for a 1.8 TFSI one in the Summer.

I'm very eager to see this car!

I wonder in which direction the design will go in the end. Will it be more Roadjet-like, or similar to current A4 but beefier (like eg Huckfeldt's CGIs)?

But the most interesting part: how much have Audi advanced in driving dynamic field.

Btw, will new A5 & A4 feature MagneticRide? And will a 300hp 3.2 FSI with Valvelift engine be finally offered? Will DSG / S-tronic be any further improved over the one from TT?

I 'm also hoping to see soon a twin turbo version of the 3.2 lt V6 engine as some reports indicate.

2009 Audi A4

1 - What is it?
The new generation of Audi's entry level luxury sedan , available as either a Sedan or a Avant (wagon). The all new A4 has a longer wheelbase in order to make the rear seat more spacious. It will also be later on available in S and RS versions.

2 - What's under the hood?
Motivation will come via turbocharged 1.8 and 2.0-liter four cul. , 3.2-liter V-6, 4.2-liter V-8 or the RS4's even more powerful 420-hp V-8.
A redesigned transaxle (incorporating a more compact clutch and differential) allows the engine to sit farther back than it does in today's A4, trimming the front overhang and allowing for better weight distribution.

3 - Any other extra?
Rear biased all-wheel drive, a 7 speed dual-clutch DSG transmission, and Delphi's MagneRide magnetic dampers will be on the options list.

4 - How much?
Prices will be comparable to a BMW 3-series and a Mercedes-Benz C class.

5 - When's it coming?
The Sedan debuts in late 2007; the Avant in 2008. A Sportback version might also be available later on.

MUNICH -- Audi will debut a new A4 sedan at the IAA in Frankfurt in September, a company source said.

The lower-premium car will have a sharper front-end profile than the current model. It will use Audi's new modular-length component platform, which premiers in the new A5 coupe at the Geneva auto show next month. The new architecture will enable Audi to introduce variants quicker and at a lower cost.

Through 11 months last year, the A4 was Audi's top model line in Europe, selling 222,639 units, down from 241,746 the year before, according to JATO Dynamics.

Model years in US are one year ahead. For example Audi TT which is now sold in US is the 2008 MY:
