Why is there so few spyshot on the coming B8 A4 if it now is going to be presented late 2007?

Remeber the new A4 is based on the A5.. They do alot of testing by testing the A5.. But they will test many A4 soon,
Audi will only be finished with the A5 first..

There were various B8 A4 test mules but they were made to look like B7 A4s. Also since A5 and A4 now share the same components , various systems for the A4 have been tested in the A5 mules.

Also we had seen a couple of Q5 mules that were disguised as raised A4 Avants.

BTW Q5 will be presented along with A4 in Frankfurt.

Just like Mercedes' new C-Class I can't stress it enough as to how important the new A4 is for Audi here in the U.S., even more so than the C-Class. With the S6, S8, RS4, R8 and Q7 all being as stunning as they are, they are not the most affordable way to enter the Audi club, the A4 is. The new A4 needs to have the typical Audi looks inside and out, but it also needs class equaling power (which stands at 300hp now) and it needs to have a DSG tranny as any option on not just the turbo 4, but also on the V6. Audi might want to think about having a V6 model in the U.S. as a base if they truly want parity with Mercedes and BMW, both of which don't do 4-cylinders motors in the U.S. anymore. This would be a good way to cut ties with VW image wise, which is one Audi's problems here in the U.S. I have really high hopes for this car, it needs to make a grand Audi statement like their recent products have, but at a price where it can draw in thousands of new Audi customers. Come on Audi I know you can do it!!!!!

Unfortunately I believe Audi's strongest products are its I4 turbos... I do hope they'd strengthen their V6 lineup though, as you said.

I think having I4s don't really tie Audi with VW; I find that it is rather beneficial for Audi considering they can offer a cheaper alternative to the V6 for those who don't want to pay for extra power. That way, now they have monopoly of the I4 arena in this segment IMO.

In other markets that might be so, but in the U.S. I don't think it makes for a good distinction when all others have a 6-cylinder as their base engine. A lot of folks know that Audi and VW share the turbo I4 so it might be worth it to shed the 4-cylinder as the base engine, all IMO and speculation of course.

Genena is the new name of Geneva. After they see the A5 they will be so thrilled that they will have to change the name of their city. Lol... j/k

So, I've a question for you.
Certenly you know that the new Audi generation is based on a common platform (MLB/MLP).
I heard that this is made up for the 80% of aluminuim.
Is this true?

No mistakes at all and you can ask whatever you want.

All Audi models will be based on the new Modular Longitudinal Platform (MLP) but only the next A8 (D4) will be made from Aluminium (just like the current model).

I'm waiting for the new A4 (B8). Fortunatelly, the new platform will make the feeling with car more precise without understeering behaviour tipical of Audi.

But, be carefull: I said only the platform would be in aluminium.
Infact A8 have also the ASF body. And this will continue to be an exclusive of the A8/R8.
But I think that there is also the opportunity that the new Audi's generation
have "only" the platform in aluminium and the body in common materials.

What about the engines? there are a lot of voices about a new V6 3.0 TDI capable of 250BPH ( that is half of the last V12 TDI made by two V6 with new BOSCH injectors) that is made up with the third generation of common-rail sistem (with 2000 bar pression).
I red also from other forum that the power would be also around 270 BPH for the V6 TDI.
Personally I don't believe in a so hight power for the V6 TDI . But I think that Audi will put of a new engine to contrast the 335d.

But, be carefull: I said only the platform would be in aluminium.

A car's "platform" is essentially the floor of its bodyshell and that i not going to be made from Aluminium in the new A4 and A5.

No. A3 , A3 cabrio and Q3 will continue to use the Golf platform. The engine is transversely mounted in those models while the Modular Longitudinal Platform will be used in models with Longitudinally mounted engine (such as A4,A5,A6 and A8).
Q7 and TT use their own unique platforms.
