The most recent attempt to cache in on the idea, the 330Si Edition
It's a car most owners want to forget ever owning.Lol, they built the required number for homologation, sold them all, and as a consequence won a crap load of touring car races and titles... the 320Si very much nailed its brief.
The most recent attempt to cache in on the idea, the 330Si Edition, is indeed a cynical attempt at branding, and I've no idea how it was locally received in its market.
Very well received I’ve seen plenty on the road, but it’s just an appearance upgrade nothing to do with performance or anything in commo with the original E30 325is just a marketing exercise, but it does look like something special on the road I’ll give it that.Lol, they built the required number for homologation, sold them all, and as a consequence won a crap load of touring car races and titles... the 320Si very much nailed its brief.

I'm turning into an old fart who pays full price for very few items in life. I buy my socks at Asda and underwear from Aldi.Seriously, we get it Luw. It's all you keep talking about, depreciation and discounts![]()
Too big, too controversial, too expencive..If you really want an M3 and you are an old school guy, wait for the next M2...
Lol. I only just discovered that standards DTRLs are the teary eyed ones. Sacrilege on an M car.
You have to spec laser lights to get the hexagonal DTRLs that we have seen on press cars.
I can imagine numerous buyers getting caught out by this.

Well said agree with you on all points. They hit it out the park once again it’s going to be harder to beat the M3/4 then before. In practically all the videos of the M4 it is clear that the new one is light years away from the reception that I remember the previous M4 had in its first days, which in many cases disappointed, especially in certain driving conditions (which later was improved until be an icon),
But here and now we see that they loved the car, there are genuine samples of extreme enthusiasm in general and details such as the drift analyzer that amused everyone, the most beautiful buckets in the world, the excellent interior and handling quality, the striking and aggressive that is the exterior, the performance, etc, to mention a few anecdotes, and the car itself is altogether extremely good and tempting
As always, an unbeatable job, better than the rest, as it should be.
yes true but these are two quite often opposite points of view: real driving pleasure vs opportunities and benefits coming from the new generation of vehicles.I stick with the first but I don't understimate the secondIt will be extremely interesting to see how well the M3/M4 will sell against the M version of the i4. Although some might say it's like comparing apples to oranges, BEVs and hybrids have substantial tax benefits if used as company cars. This is why I wouldn't write-off the next gen hybrid C63 as a competitor.

It’s NOT.
Has the 911 ever been compared to the C63/RS5/ Giula or any other M3 competitor in the past . Seems that it’s always compared to the M3/4 only which is a huge compliment.Quote: "The BMW M4 Compeition manages to be both an accomplished all-rounder and a flawed, yet brilliantly exciting sports coupe all at the same time. It’s everyday on-road manners and luxuriously appointed cabin are almost beyond reproach. Yet start to press on the and the wave of seemingly limitless power and torque, combined with a veracious appetite for on-the-limit brinkmanship makes it a heart-stopping streetfighter of a sports coupe. And while it may not have the dynamic finesse of the 911 that its now priced so closely with, there’s more than enough reason to drop £80k on one of Munich’s most radical and controversial M cars yet."
