The Lamborghini Aventador is a mid-engine, two passenger sports car manufactured from 2011 until 2022. Named after a prominent Spanish fighting bull that fought in Zaragoza, Aragón, in 1993, the Aventador succeeded the Murciélago and was manufactured in Sant'Agata Bolognese, Italy.

Wow awesome car, so close to 918 only 2 sec behind! 324 km/h through Dottinger Hohe!

Non-street legal DTM style race seat and no passenger seat?

Not claiming I know for sure, but I doubt the CF non-power, non heated seat of the SV pictured above would be much heavier than a rear race seat. Also there is a roll cage in there by the looks of it so they probably removed the passenger seat to offset the weight. Ill try to find some weights for the SV seat.

Is a sub 7 minute lap time really that impressive?

Assuming it passes safety and emissions testing, there's no limit to how much power and grip a manufacturers can add to a car.

Would you expect anything less from a 750hp double clutch AWD carbon fiber mid engine car wearing P Zero Corsas? The point I'm getting at is manufacturers can pick a target lap time and reverse engineer the car to hit that target if they want.

Driving in the real world (not setting a lap record at the Ring) is about the subjective experience, not objective data. Fast does not always equal fun.

Any car that gets under 7min is extremely fast and has excellent handling, roadholding/grip and braking power. To be able to achieve this time is also not easy at all as you can see in the video, the driver has to put himself under extreme risks with straightline and cornering speeds as well as judging the correct cornering path through the very difficult sections of the track. The Nurburgring is also not just a smooth as silk track the different areas of the track also have changing surfaces and bumps etc. it puts huge strain on the cars suspension and braking components as well as the drivers nerves.

This might be the actual sv lap from the outside since you can see the rollcage

The engine sounds fantastic! I can't wait till QR road test this car, I will think it will be much faster than a standard Aventador

Great performance by the lamborghini!

The lap time of the 918 seems a bit disappointing by comparison, actually, when taking into account the generated expectations, the performance level offered by the new hybrid hyper cars might be a bit shortcoming...

I'm curious to see how the aventador sv will behave on future tests...

there is a difference though:

the 918 did a 100% full lap (start/finish at the same place)
the LFA NE, ACR and aventador SV stopped their timer at a line closer to the final corner, look it up

You're mistaken, that difference doesn't exist.

Actually that's the way everyone measures lap times for production cars in the nordschleife (including porsche).

So the Lamborghini's time is really that near to the 918's time.

rewatched the 918 video, he slows down before the 1st corner

somebody tell porsche to add a timer to their videoes
