I have driven the MINI yes and the engine is brilliant. The whole package is certainly astounding for what is effectively BMW derived. That is why I am vocal about the Active Tourer because its genes are the same and for drivers that have to sacrifice typical BMW attributes for an increase in flexibility will be impressed in the cars dynamics.
The Active Tourer is not just competitive in clever utilisation of space it is a vehicle that brings new ways of competitiveness to an ordinary segment where everything has to follow a strict mindset.

Having seen the new Clubman. I have to say that this car is going to be better received than before. Customers are going to love it , as will existing Clubman owners. But all eyes are the standard car and the recent move to manufacturer the car in Holland has come apparent. MINI are sitting on a huge global order bank for the new MINI which was recently launched in November. Customers still cannot get enough of the MINI it seems.

I just noticed in this TV spot that the new MINI has the same HUD system as the 2er Active Tourer. The cheap one.

Thanks for the info. I don't like the idea of FWD BMW but I had the same opinion as you (that it would still drive great, as a BMW should, since BMW already proved themselves in FWD territory with the MINI) but it wasn't well received here...

As for the F56, there were 3 of them driving together with a Countryman here in Mexico (I think they were promoting the car) and I actually liked it a lot. I'll miss central speedo and I think the nose or hood is way too long but well, it still looks great. I've always liked the way MINI paint jobs look. They look deep and expensive. I hope they still offer 7 hole wheels, I liked them.
