X6 [Official] 2014 BMW (F16) X6

The BMW X6 is a mid-size luxury crossover SUV by German automaker BMW. The BMW X6 is the originator of the sports activity coupé (SAC), referencing its sloping rear roof design. It combines the attributes of an SUV (high ground clearance, all-wheel drive and all-weather ability, large wheels and tires) with the stance of a coupé (styling featuring a sloping roof).

Some announcements relating to future products (luxury based) are coming soon. The excitement is driving...

A look to your profile page shows the car on your avatar complete. When I take your comment above and read between the lines then I think I'm maybe right with my thought. That it could be the X7.

First F16 X6 Rolls Off Line in Spartanburg

Production of the second generation BMW X6 (F16) has begun! Manufacturing for the all new X6 began yesterday (Friday) at the BMW plant in Spartanburg, South Carolina.

The first new BMW X6 off the line was a Sophisto Gray xDrive35i with a Cognac Black leather interior. This one isn't for the home market though, as it is destined for a BMW dealership in China.

Production of the first-generation X6 started in early 2008 at the plant. U.S. sales of the X6, between 2008 and 2014 (July), totaled more than 37,000 units. Since 2008, about 265,000 X6s have been produced for global customers.

The X6 joins the X3, X4 and X5 as the current models produced in the Spartanburg plant. The upcoming BMW X7 has also been announced to be joining the lineup at Spartanburg.

In March, BMW announced an additional $1 billion investment for this plant. That will increase annual production capacity to 450,000 vehicles by the end of 2016.

Gorgeous vehicle, but clearly the rest of the world is more interested in the X6 than the U.S. is.

The new X6 launched has been postponed from Moscow to Paris in October.

BMW X6 Live Debut Rescheduled for Paris Motor Show

Long before BMW took the virtual veils off the new F16 X6, we were reporting that the company is planning to bring it in the flesh at the Moscow Auto Show, this month, to introduce it to the world. Now, we’re hearing word that the live debut of the new Sport Activity Coupe will be pushed back until October, for the Paris Motor Show.

According to Autocar, the reason behind this move would be related to the number of potential customers the car would have in Moscow compared to Paris but we reckon it has more to do with the restrictions the EU is enforcing on Russia.

It will also be quite an interesting motor show in Moscow this month, considering the tense relationship between the Western and Eastern worlds. Most European manufacturers have big business in Russia but how they will deal with the ongoing issues the international community has with the communist country is still to be reflected upon.

Even so, the show must go on and, after the world and European premiere of the X6 in Paris, the car will eventually go on sale. The US will get an xDrive35i model as the base version while Europeans and other sides of the world will also enjoy diesel plants on the xDrive30d and M50d variants.

Compared to the old model, the new one is basically lighter (only slightly) and more luxurious, BMW clearly aiming at making the X6 a more premium model with the pricing to match. Speaking of which, the new SAC will probably be more expensive than the old model by a considerable amount.

Really? Not really. I doubt BMW would give it up this easily. Russia is still, and will continue to be, very important market for European luxury cars. And X6 is especially popular there. And rich Russsians love their Bimmers, Mercs, Porsches, Audis, Jaguars, Rollses, Bentleys etc. And will continue to love them despite the sanctions.

Imagine rich people there without luxury goods from the WEST. :D
No champagne, no foie gras, no haute couture, no diamonds & pearls. :D

BMW F16 X6 Configurator Is Now Online

The new X6 was launched just two months ago and BMW is apparently already taking orders even though the car wasn’t introduced in the flesh at a proper auto show. Rumors said that the F16 X6 was to be unveiled in Moscow this month but more recent info shows that we might see it in the flesh first at Paris. Either way, the configurator for the new Sport Activity Coupe is now online.

On BMW’s US website you can now configure your own X6 and you have plenty of options to choose from. The Germans were clearly looking to make the new model more upbeat, luxurious and basically a whole different breed.

That’s properly reflected by the new configurator. You get to choose between two lines: the M Sport and xLine that is brand new. The former brings you 19” M Sport wheels, M steering wheel, a new body kit, anthracite headliner and Shadowline exterior trims. All for $3,500. The latter will get you a different body kit, 19” wheels and aluminum running boards. If we were to choose, we’d go with xLine for $2,500.

There are 11 available colors for the exterior, some of which are available only with one or the other world. For example you can’t get Dark Graphite Metallic color on M Sport but you can get the Flamenco Red.

Inside, plenty of leather combinations are available. However, the bi-color ones really take the cake. The Ivory White/Black Nappa leather definitely wins it here, with an unbelievably good look. Sure, it will cost you $1,950 but it’s worth the trouble.

Of course, other standalone options are also available, such as the executive package that adds 4-zone AC, HUD, satellite radio and ceramic controls to the package, the Bang & Olufsen sound system (for $3,700) and so on.

All in all, the most expensive model we could configure was around $104,000 with the xDrive50i model acting as the start-up point. However, dwell into the Individual package and you might end up at a lot more...

So, I wonder if this affects the launch of the X5 and X6 M. I fully expect them both to be launched at the same time, and I would have thought that would have happened at the LA motor show which opens on Tuesday 18th November, so it's going to be a very short gap between the standard X6 and X6 M.

I'm not a big fan of the new X6 front bumper with the bulges looking like an X, the previous model in my opinion looked more sportier in the front with better integrated and looking front bumper. The new X6 M looks fantastic though much more aggressive front and nice wheels

BMW X6 M drops some camo in latest spy photos

Could be introduced sometime next year
BMW is putting the finishing touches on the 2015 / 2016 X6 M as our spies have caught the model wearing less camouflage than ever before.

Looking instantly recognizable, the X6 M has been equipped with an aerodynamic body kit that includes a new front bumper, revised side skirts and a tailgate-mounted spoiler. The crossover also has an M-specific grille, additional body color accents and a four-tailpipe exhaust system. We can also see high-performance brakes, unique alloy wheels and what appears to be ventilated front fenders.

Power will be provided by a twin-turbo 4.4-liter V8 engine. BMW has been coy on specifications but the engine could produce at least 560 PS (412 kW) and 680 Nm (502 lb-ft) of torque. This could enable the model to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in less than 4.7 seconds, before hitting an electronically limited top speed of 250 km/h (155 mph).
