Cayenne Next Generation Porsche Cayenne (spy pics & info)

The Porsche Cayenne is a series of automobiles manufactured by Porsche since 2002. It is a luxury crossover SUV, and has been described as both a full-sized and a mid-sized vehicle.
Well the interior is very nice. The exterior however... Sure, way better than the gen1, but that wasn't too hard wasn't it? I like the lower to the ground appearance, the whole is sure tidier and less looking like a blob. I like that the wheelarchs are not looking like they were built to house 50" wheels (that was utterly ridiculous).

However, i fail to see what you're all raving about. The Touareg II looks better to my eyes. The Cayenne is still no beauty for me.
Of course, I'd never go so far as to call you a Cayenne-hater, raoul - that's not my style. :) ;)

But let's be honest here, your aversion to the Cayenne is almost as strong as mine is to the M SAVs.

At least a Cayenne is a useful thing... ;) ;) ;)

I really like this car, my head is etching since I saw it.

That's because you can tell that it's going to be the epic SUV, my brother. :)

And, with that new 220 kW, 400 Nm V6 - even the entry-level cars are going to be compelling value propositions.

Umm .. Martin Martin Martin, you are on to something here. Do you imply that this Cayenne Turbo is a good replacement for the Panny 4S ? :D I can hear it in your tone :D

BTW its cheaper than Panamera 4S here :D

You might have a point here, the Cayenne summarizes most of what I hate about some cars...
However I do honestly think the Cayenne I was ugly as hell, or more. And that this one, while way better looking, is far from a beauty.

The interior looks great, but the exterior has gone from distinctive to dull. Unlike the last time around, the Porsche now looks like a re-badged, re-grilled VW.

I usually agree with you Merc1, but not this time. Much better looking exterior to these eyes.

LOL...I can understand. It just looks watered down now. The old one stood out more, but of course the final verdict will have to wait for official pics and then seeing it in person. The first generation I thought was the ugliest thing I'd ever seen back when it first debuted.

Loving the Cayenne and hating the X5 M. Very nice double standards :eusa_clap
Hey stfu klier! ;)

Dude, you gotta start reading between the lines more - be more analytical.

What car do I love more than any other, klier, at any price? BMW M3 Coupe. That's a modern M car in the truest tradition. It's the perfect combination of road-going luxury, style and dynamic perfection for a fraction of the price of an inferior Aston Martin Vantage. It represents everything that's right with BMW's M Division.

A Porsche Cayenne is an interesting vehicle. In its first generation the car was actually over-engineered to be able to handle moderate off-roading and still be a wonderfully rapid road machine. It embodies the essence of an SUV: jack of all trades master of none. Think of the SUV acronym in a different light: Sporting, Useful, Versatile. A Cayenne 2 is going to be even better at addressing these three attributes even if it loses a smidge of outright off-road capability.

The X5M and X6M are, first and foremost, an affront to the M ethos. Furthermore, they are incapable of dealing with even the mildest off tar conditions and end up being nothing more than fat, bloated juggernauts with token usefulness and versatility to justify their girth. So, the cars hold no appeal for me whatsoever.

A Cayenne on the hand, ah, this new one, it's going to be a great Porsche. And a thoroughly resolved, capable and versatile multi-role vehicle at that. A far cry from the mono-dimensional M barges.

It's a relief that people are embracing the Cayenne Mk.II and the Panamera which have both been subject to some heavy bashing. Although the initial impression might not be positive, the cars do present themselvs to be handsome in the metal -- yes, even the Cayenne MK.II is attractive in the metal.

I'm sorry to spoil the party but, unless it is very different in the metal, so far I am far from impressed by the Cayenne II...:D

I've seen numerous Pannys though, and while no beauty queens, they sure do look impressive and powerful IRL. I like them.

It's a nice story Martin, but I don't buy it sorry. First of all, I know you love the M3, but it has nothing to do with the topic, and I am even starting to wonder if you would like the M3 as much if it were the exact same car but called 350i (I know it's not true, but I couldn't resist sorry) because a simple name seems to matter a lot ;) You hate the X5 M because of the name, and yet the X5 has the EXACT same qualities as the ones you just mentioned for the Cayenne.

Weirrrrrd....and I still call it a double standard. And I will not shut up to people who think the X5 M suck and a Cayenne Turbo doesn't. I find that to be very sad and wrong.
