I imagine being part of a group that gets to maintain and occasionally drive their own back-catalogue would be an immensely satisfying job.I mean Mercedes should buy this one, but I sure they have a mint W126 already.
Love that velours. Such a pity MB seems to refuse to bring this upholstery back into their cars.Great review of a 420SEL. I love the blue velour seats they look supremely comfortable.
My brother in law bought a similar 420SEL in the same blue, and is now restoring it. I'll give him some help with the wood trimming once he arrives to interior stage.Great review of a 420SEL. I love the blue velour seats they look supremely comfortable.
lolI would love to know what he thinks of Mercedes design today.

His answer is probably nsfw .I would love to know what he thinks of Mercedes design today.

He probably thinks he is lucky cause then they had unlimited budget for engineering and he could use the best materials for the interiors and body work.I would love to know what he thinks of Mercedes design today.

Brunno Sacco to Gordon Wagner - "Gordon this new W223 S500 of yours has 2mm thick black piano plastic trim on all the doors, my 1980 W126 500SE had 4mm thick walnut wood trim on the doors, center console and entire dash. It has done 450 thousand km and the leather has not warn."
Today we call it cruelty free vegan leather. The leather hasn't worn because it's MBtext!
Today we call it cruelty free vegan leather.
The emissions produced by the chemical plants producing these petroleum based plastic products is far worse to the environment than using animal leather for the interior. Very ironic that the extreme environmentalists from the WEF want us to have an animal free diet and expects farmers to reduce the number of cattle on their farms to reduce greenhouse methane emissions and the skins of these animals can be used for car seats or even leather jackets. And the irony is most of it is made from petroleum byproduct, it must be a dilemma for vegans who are often climate warriors, the choices are sustainable resource animal skins or something from big oil!

Im guessing that is a 1991/2 300CE (8valve). It looks like in excellent condition. Love the blue velour seats, door panels and door pockets. It must be a smooth drive and with good performance. What an amazing car.Sorry for high jacking the thread with another car, but I just wanted to post pictures of my weekend with his creation:

Absolute amazing. What a smooth ride still.
That's hardly sustainable. I doubt BMW is doing that?
