Mercedes style design changes: Mercedes now look for smoother lines, also in facelift, wherever it is possible to work. The new rear bumper has allowed to change the bottom of the rear lamps. And it immediately took the opportunity to remove some edge.

^ Nice observation! And you're right, the light appear to be more rounded. The general shape looks the same, but the whole unit is different.

It looks fantastic. Much much better than the pre-FL. The peoblem is it makes the CLS interior look ordinary.

Much classier than the pre-facelift in the interior. It makes it look pretty dull/cheap in comparison.

However, yes, the CLS now doesn't have anything special inside over the E really, considering their now about identical in that area. Not to mention, the CLA will make the CLS's exterior appear too ordinary. Dilution.

but then again most people usually go for the CLS because of its overall unique design, so people still wouldn't mind, i just hope they don't start to homogenize and copy/paste interiors like BMW i don't mind the SLK, SL, and SLS but lets not homgenize every model

Come on, still the CLS interior is quite different to the E, and putting metal airvents on E's FL won't make them identical nor in the same level.

I agree, on top of that this does look like a long wheelbase model for Chine, so it might get a few upgrades to the standard model. I hope thats not the case because this does look a bit better.
I for one always thought the large clock in the instrument-cluster looked very clumsy in the pre/f E. Removing it from the cluster and placing it between the center air-vents (like the S and CLS) makes it look more upscale. I also like the metal trim at the bottom of the wood. (also S-Class upgrades.)

Looks like the f/l upgrades will be minimal, which would be ideal for current E-Class owner.
Check out the upgrades in the interior f/l to the current one. It`s going to add up to and overall very nice package.

----------------------------------
The overall design of the CLS is simply more upscale. It`s closer to the S-Class than the E imo

I agree the interior of the CLS trumps the E in every aspect. The E's interior is drab, stale and contains way too many cheap plastics. I like the new direction of MB interiors though; a well needed improvement befitting of a car with a 3 pointed star on the hood.

Moderator, please remove the post above to its proper thread. I think it's twice now in this page. thanks.

Very interesting. The 4-eye look is going digital rather than architectural. still a downgrade from the current ones I think, as some fresher and cleaner graphics in the current unit would have been an ideal best-of-both-worlds IMO.

I'd like to see it straight on to get an idea of how it'll actually look. Are those reflector headlights in there, or projectors, or LED's? Can't tell.

I think we can safely say they've managed to maintain the four eyed face and use one casing. I love it. The E will still be very unique.

Quad eyes behind a single lens. Unique like BMW has done on every single car since the E36... ;)

Nevertheless, it will be better than the current busy quad eye look. Good riddance

Yes, the E-class is the definition of the quad eye look, agreed. But with the facelift, they're changing to what a lot of others already have, and what has been BMW's trademark look for well over two decades.
